So I am starting my next run and 1 of my sprouted seedlings has 3 cotyledons or w/e. Can anyone tell me if this is good/bad or any info would be great, thanks.
they were cali connection's 818 headband seeds

I read a post on another forum that said that this is a mutation that effects something like 2% of seeds and 60% of the time these will be male. If female 20% of the time they will have higher yields, 20% of the time lower yields, and the rest is normal. I also read that they will often have 1/3 more side branches.

This was just one post by someone so if anyone can confirm/deny or add any info that would help, thanks.

What you have is a somewhat rare mutation known as Whorled Phyllotaxy, some people call them trifoliates. It should not perform noticeably better or worse than any other plant, it's like a person being born with an extra nipple or something. [IMG]

I used to have something similar, it started putting out 3 leaves per node around week two...

Topped it once, and it formed 3 nice colas.

Unfortunately, this plant starting putting out pollen sacs and I had to scrap it. But it was some crappy bagseed with hermie genetics, so I don't blame the mutation.

  4. thanks for the posts

  5. It's a bit early to tell anything about that plant. Sometimes they do weird things when just starting out. Give it a few days and have another look and see if you still have any weirdness going on. Dollars to doughnuts it looks like every other MJ plant you've ever seen. LOL TWW
