Which MOD and RDA?

Discussion in 'E-Liquids & E-Juice, E-Cigarettes' started by ogkosh, Oct 4, 2015.

  1. I might get some money soon, and i am looking to invest them in a new vape, so i was wondering which mod i should buy? I am looking to buy both a new mod and a new RDA or two. Maybe also a tank and a lesser powerful mod (Not the subbox, already have one, im having issues with the subtank).
And i was wondering about a few things. First which mod i should get, i've thought about a Sigelei 150w TC or without TC or an xCube 2 by SMOK. I was also wondering if its possible to use the nickle wire in any RDA for the Temperature control. I want something that can go low in ohms, like the xcube or sigelei, But do you guys have any other mods and rda's to recommend? Right now i have a tugboat v2 clone and a kbox mini.

  2. Kinda a loaded question...budget, experience and what you like will play a huge role...

Dryice was considering both the Xcube 2 and the Sig 150TC...he went with the Sig...pretty sure he's happy with it...

Based on reputation and heresay, the Sig would be the way to go...but I have to admit, the Xcube 2 is pretty interesting...I considered one for a bit, but can't justify the purchase right now...

As far as RDA...you probably can't go wrong with a Velocity style RDA...seems to be one of the better all around choices these days, but your choice would depend a lot on your preferences with vaping and your building experience...

My first RDA purchase was an authentic Royal Hunter...a decent choice IMO, thanks largely to guidance from a shop owner...not an extreme cloud chaser, nor an exquisite flavour experience...more middle of the road on both...fantastic for me to learn to build on, and, as far as authentics go, pretty inexpensive...

For a tank...I absolutely love my Crown tank...absolutely no issues or leaks...awesome flavour with both the stainless and nickel coils...massive clouds with the SS coils...top fill...pretty much everything I'd ask for on a tank using OCC coils...

I like my Heracles a lot as well...it's cheaper than the Crown, and can use widely available Aspire coils...haven't tried TC coils on it though...

Yes...you can build with nickel on pretty much any RDA...just be warned...nickel is significantly harder to build with than Kanthal due to it's softness, and ridiculously low resistance...

I am probrably gonna buy prebuilt coils as i have zero experience, nor any tools to do it. I thought about getting the xcube 2 as it looks very cool and sleek, but i heard the sigelei 150w non tc would be better for clouds. i dont really need the temperature control, it would just be there for extra fun.
Budget is nonexistant, because i will probrably have a few hundred dollars available so that should not be a problem. I am not trying to quit cigarettes or get a ton of flavor. I dislike when there is too much flavor, thats why i dont really like the subtank, it spits, and gives too much flavor in my opinion. I know it sounds weird but thats just me.

i guess you can call me a cloud chaser, but i dont want one of those round mechanical mods. I prefer a regulated boxmod.

  4. If you're not interested in flavour, and are more of a cloud chaser, IMO, temp control is not your route...if you're not into building coils, a tank with cloud chasing OCC coils would be the best route...

I'd suggest the regular Sigelei 150W and a Smok TFV4 tank...

If you really want a RDA, look at the Doge V2 or the Cigreen N23...but if you're gonna buy pre-made coils for a RDA, it can get a bit more difficult and is more hit or miss as what coils you buy make a big difference, and you'll still have to worry about doing your own wicking...

  5. I love the horizontech arctic subohm tank on my eleaf istick 50w

  6. im probrably gonna buy prebuilt coils, but i love messing around with it and i have no probrlem in wicking, i have already bought some .5ohm coils and 5 sheets of japanese cotton, so that isnt a problem. Alright i think im gonna get the sigelei 150watt and i already thought about getting the tfv4 tank and a dripper. What about the mutation x series? Which one of those is best, i heard some things about x3 being better than x4??

  7. The x3 doesn't have the extra bottom coil airflow like the 4. The 3 has a realistic single coil option, that doesn't use little silicone plugs. Buy some kanthal 26-28 g and practice making coils. It's extremely simple.

  8. i was thinking about getting 22g kanthal, and getting a mutation x4, gonna build a simple 5wrap dual coil. whats your opinion on this? Also a question: i see people use ceramic tweezers, but do you really need those? will the thing still go out if you just dont fire while using normal tweezers?

  9. The x3 leaks less, and has more realistic airflow for simple coils. I don't use ceramic tweezers, I use needle nose pliers. Be careful though, as they can cause shorts.

  10. wont it only short out while firing though?

  11. I don't fire while holding the coil. I fire, then squeeze or adjust. I have had zero issues getting a coil to fire evenly.

  12. I just picked up the horizontech arctic subohm tank and a tesla metal 60w box. Couldn't be happier with the combo.

  13. I use a tugboat v2 with a drugga RDA. Chucks clouds like no tomorrow. Get a authentic mod. I personally never trust clones
