Live resin question...

    Ok so my last plant is getting harvested tonight after 60 hours of dark, and in not a flower guy. I turn everything into BHO, but i want to try making some live resin since shes still alive and kicking....but heres my question for any seasoned BHO producers....my understanding is live resin is blasted the same way once its frozen. When i make BHO, i dewax and polish it. But would i do that with live resin since im trying to keep all the terps? And is the frozen bud packed like fresh dry bud?

    Live resin is pretty similar to the idea of fresh frozen bubble hash. You have the right idea of the dewax. The dewaxing will take away the gooey live resin appearance of the oil and will make it into a stereotypical stable shatter, although the results are very nice. I don't blast oil so someone else will have to tell you. I assume logically that you want to keep the butane in a liquefied state so you would pack it the same way.


    In my opinion it's better to just make fresh frozen bubble than live resin, but to each his own.

    Yea dewaxing gives it that nice clear shatter look but from what i understand, terps attach themselves to the waxes when dewaxing. And the idea of live resin is having all those terps. If im wrong on them attaching to the waxes, then hallelujah, one question solved lol.

    Yeah that's what I was trying to point out was that dewaxing semi-defeats the purpose of live resin. You can dewax live resin, you might notice a "fresher" taste or something as compared to you drying the material. I've had both types and that's my experience.


    I honestly haven't thought that live resin was that much more worth it - I usually end up always going for the standard shatter instead, unless there is something exceptional about it. I end up dabbing it faster than your standard shatter, and as far as taste and effect are concerned, I strongly prefer the bubble. Personally if I had access to fresh frozen, I'd beat it down in some bags.

    Isolating terpenes is def the future of medicine, but i dunno about adding terps from a bottle to my mesicine....
    I also havent had time to read through that whole thing.

    These are essential oils, not pure terpenes.


    I've had the stuff with the readded terps. Not quite the same. Both the d-limonene and the stuff they collect from RSO flask machines. The latter is okay, I just don't find it as satisfying as your regular standard concentrates.
