Marijuana In Texas.

  1. So far I hear it's going to be legalized. Any idea when or the age limits? Recrational ?

  2. Since the Legislature won't be reconvening for a while, it would be next Session at the earliest. And while there has been a shift in attitudes, as long as the Texas Legislature is heavily Republican, don't bet on it...oh, wait...we cannot even get casinos in Texas despite efforts across the past few decades and the people WANTING them.

Think about the past Session...even the efforts to change the statutes to more of a catch-and-release civil citation were met with heavy resistance.

I'm feeling it will happen down there, but with a strong "push" - there will be resistance. The south will be the last states to give into legalization. There's a lot of the "marijuana is the devil's lettuce" types, and a lot of money invested in keeping it very illegal there. They love the misdemeanor arrests for the fines. I wish people would try to include concentrates in decriminalization bills because concentrate use is increasingly common with pot smokers, and possession is a felony in Texas, as well as other states.

  4. The governor legalized small amounts of medical for children with certain types of epilepsy and that's a huge step in the right direction. Unfortunately we will be one of the last. Look how long it took for open carry.

  6. No. There are too many bible thumping 2nd amendment conservatives for Texas to legalize weed. I don't believe it.

  7. Governor Abbott signed a high CBD low THC law in June. Product must be over 10 percent CBD and 1 percent or less THC.
The state will begin taking license applications this July, will issue first licenses June 2017. All persons that qualify for a license,
will be given one. This is a very good law, for the fact the State will not be picking winners and losers as in many other States Presently is only allowed for Epilepsy. The legislature meets in 2017, at that time many Veterans groups will be pushing to include
PTSD. My sources all say that it will happen. People outside of in Texas, don't understand while it is conservative, it is nothing like Alabama or other States in the South. There is a very strong Libertarian bend to the people. It is going to happen sooner than
    you think.
