American Marijuana Arrests Increase Despite Changing Views on Cannabis

    The same year Colorado and Washington decriminalized marijuana, arrests across the nation in relation to the drug increased by 8000.Citing the FBI's annual crime report, the Marijuana Policy Project said the numbers refute the myth that no one get's arrested for marijuana any longer. The Uniform Crime Report tallied 700,993 marijuana related arrests in the United States during 2014.The report which released Monday stated 693,058 similar arrests occurred in the year prior. The group's spokesman stated that 88 percent of those arrests were for possession.
