Some would say that anything in a (and the only) solar system known to contain life should be left as uncontaminated and unchanged as possible, so as to leave a more pristine "laboratory" for exploring the factors that may have lead both to and not-to life. I suppose Either way it would be most beneficial to learn to live on giant space stations to avoid needing to worry about our impact on planets. -Yuri
