This is just wrong...you do NOT make something legal for adults and at the same time make a penalty for kids having it harsher...so f**king wrong!
Another article indicates the County intends to seek prosecution only on a misdemeanor. Disingenuous to claim it is an unintended consequence though...they passed it and you have to believe something of this magnitude actually was read before being signed into law.
Yeah the prosecutor misinterpreted the law, it is not a felony for a minor to possess cannabis under forty grams in WA...charges were reduced to misdemeanors
I'm confused from what I've read. Is it the law? Or is it just discretion from the proseuction? What I read in SB 5052 that any violation of any controlled substances act for possession that wasn't covered by the I-502 law was a class C felony, and I believe that's where the charges originated from.
That shit is crazy though thankfuly they got them taken down a bit couldnt imagine that shit here in canada
