Hi blades, welcome to my new on-going grow journal. As some of you might already know, I usually start a new journal for each grow but now instead of that I'll be covering all my efforts here in this one.
    .
I'll periodically edit this first post and put in links to anything useful or worth remembering that happens in this thread..... Or at least I plan to, we shall see what happens lol

right now I have just harvested some autos and have an empty tent.

I also have a butt load of clones that I was planning to flower outside, but we had some pretty wet and cold weather so I didn't bother.

So, to tackle these two issues I'll put some of them in the tent, veg for a few days to get them settled and straight in to 12/12

I want to put in quite a few clones. I have about 40 available. I don't think I can fit that many in, but there won't be any real veg time so I'll pack in as many as I can.

These are the clones that I have

    The tent is 120cm (4') x 80cm (3' ish) and 180cm (6') high. With a 600w air cooled HPS and a MarsHydro 100x3w LED that draws 170watts.

  4. it looks like I can just about fit 24 plants in there but there's no way I'll be able to water that many pots and the pots would have to be so small that I think it would stunt development. So the plan is to make a shared bed. I know I'm going to be shot down about this because so many people think that plants don't do well when they share a pot, let alone 24 in one.

Having one big bed means there will only be one body of soil to water and the roots of the plants can stretch out quite far distances

I have cut 2 boards of 110cm in length and another 2 of 70cm in length so the bed pretty much fills the floor

Then laid in some black plastic sheeting and poured in some expanded clay balls so excess water has somewhere to drain

The balls are about 5cm (2") deep

Then another sheet of plastic on top with several holes punches in to it

I filled it with some old soil and perlite mix. This soil is pretty much totally void of nutrients so I'll be using my hydro nutes on this. I like my hydro nutes, I can easily control the dosages

I've primed it with a mild nutrient solution and now waiting for it to soak in and even out

  7. great to have you aboard GG, any input from you is always welcomed mate

  8. good to see you're here boots.
Lol @ "found a great seat"

  9. I can't wait to see what you get going in that bed, once I'm able to go indoors with my growing I'll be trying things of this nature and tbh I don't think I have seen this done on gc before so I'm kinda excited haha

  10. I haven't ever made a bed this way so don't know how well it will work. I know it won't be as good as a free draining pot but I don't have anything the right size and shape. I did what I could with what I have. It's a one time effort, I'll be back to DWC after this one most likely

  11. I'm pretty excited too lol

  12. I'm sure you'll do a good job, I've seen your pot noodle plant and that was beast for what it was,

  13. that was a while ago lol, yeah that went pretty well considering the restrictions. I'd like to have another go at that one day. I think an RDWC would work better than the flood and drain set up I had because with the pot being full of clay balls there wasn't much room for the roots

  14. this is how they will be laid out. I just have to plant the buggers now

  15. I'm just chuckling to myself looking at that last pic, this is gona be awesome

  16. I may regret putting that many in there lol. But I figured the more I put in, the less time I'll need to veg. I figure 4 days of veg should be enough for them to settle in

  17. How will you flush them? or will you just water feed at the end?

  18. good question, I didn't really think of that. I guess I could either try and pump water out from under the soil in the clay balls, or just not give them nutrients for the last 2 or 3 weeks and let the plants suck everything up

  19. ok they are in. I suspect I'll lose a few from them fighting to get to the top but as long as I get a few ounces in just 9 weeks I'll take it as a win
