Hey guys. I'm a couple of weeks' from harvest for my first grow and have decided to get my new girls planted now. Will probably end up adding a single thc rich plant (auto) later on in the grow.

This time I'm going for 8 cbd rich plants. I intend on only taking the best 4/5 to flower and will veg for at least 4 weeks but possibly 8.

5 Royal Dance World and 3 Royal Medic. This grow is entirely for medical purposes and will be entirely organic. I intend to scrog the girls properly this time.

Put all 8 seeds straight into some pre soaked rockwool. Whacked these in heated propagator exactly ten minutes ago.

And the Lord said, let there be life!

Woke up this morning to the first girls popping their heads up through the rockwool. That's 3 days and 4 nights to break the surface. Hopefully the rest of the girls will be along today.

  4. i have had such poor luck using rockwool to start seeds. i like to use a bowl of water for each strain and then let them soak till a tail pops out. then i take a spoon and scoop it up and drop it into the soil. i usually have a tail by a day and the seed breaks ground the following day. heat mats are great to help!! welcome to GC organics!!

    Thanks guys.
All the seedling have now poked their head through, the last one yesterday.
Transferred into mini pots with simply canna terra seedling mix to start them. Will be using my own soil when I increaee the pot size in a week or two
The are currently 3ft below a 600w hps. Its my flowering room though so they are going to have to move. Into a tent and under a 125w cfl on 18/24 today or tomorrow.

    Attached Files:

  6. Ok moved the girls out of my flowering room into a 1.2m x 1.2m tent.
    125w cfl veg light.

Ive also got some fostered seedlings. Tutankanhum and skunk no1. Vedging them in exchange for borrowing the tent. By the time my other grow is harvested and dried these will be ready to go into the flowering room and the fostered girls can go home.

  7. thats not too bad of deal!

if you see the seedlings stretch, try lowering the light about 2.5 ft above. i have a 600w about 20 inches above mine. they're eating it up too!

  8. The light is about 2-3" above now they under a cfl.

My first grow in my sig veged from day one with a 600w. Im cconvinced that using the cfl will reduce veg time, nodal distance and power consumption. But we shall see.

I want that light hung horizontally though. Going to make or buy a reflector this week when I get chance.

  9. Taking advantage of the lovely sunny weather this week and saving myself the use of a 150w for a good 8 hours. South facing bay window, far more light than a poxy 150w cfl anyway. Back under the light when the sun goes away this evening.

  10. was wondering what was best for a plant, cill or cfl. Defintely far more light in the window, in fact too much for seedlings approx 1 week old. have pulled the plants back away from the full sun and increased air flow (opened a window lol). Dont fancy killing 35 quids worth of seeds in a single day and losing a week!

  11. Seedlings in a window don't have light directly above them and tend to grow towards the window. Try a window with morning sun and add cfl above. You'll need a few cfl bulbs and keep them about 4" or so above. This way they will get lots of light from sun and lights but not burn in hot afternoon sun.

    Thanks, Lady.

The position of the sun is perfect, its lsting my girls just how I will bend them soon anyway [IMG]

CFLs in my window not an option lol, unless I want armed police kicking my door down hahah.

No windows with morning sun (well get maybe an hour) get the sun directly from 9am until 7pm(currently) in the bay I had them today. Temps are still a little too hot over lunch but within a week or two that won't be the case.
Im just trying to cut down on power.
Dont want to alert my power company to a spike in my leccy, so cut back where I can - more so given the fact im going to go to 1100-1200w air cooled hps for this grow (subject to how well a single 600 air cooled will work). Undecided on 2 x 600 or another combination utilising different spectrums.

Been reading your journal btw, great stuff. The no till im also reading through lol!

Edit - they will only go into the bay if its sunny. Otherwise they can stay under the cfl and regardless when the 600w gets turneofoff sometime 7 days from now they will stay under the cfl 18/24 (currently giving 24/0 for first 2 weeks).

Update on the seedlings to follow in a day or two. Looks as though one is a gonner already, cotyledons came up but the leaves just haven't made it through. The rest are looking ok and the tap roots are all showing at the bottom of the pots.

Just cleaning out the bath ready and remembered I had this old water tank. Was going to make a stealth cab for veging clones in it but think will use it for one or two of these girls - for now.

thats a 3 gallon bucket next to it(what Ive got my current girls in flower in)

Kind of neglected these girls thus far. Literally just harvested my other grow (7 of the 8 were 100% organic) http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-grow-journals/13...

Now I can turn my attention to them they should improve.

A few still showing the signs of the heat stress but recovering well. just given them all a good water, guess I will replant them in 2 days (straight into soil from my harvested grow with some added vermi).

  15. DAY 32 from seed update.

Height of girls - 7-8 inches
    PH Run off - 7.1
    RH - 50-60 - normally 55 though
    Temp - 21 degrees C
    Current Lighting - 375w MH
Distance from Light - 11 inches
Feed - Aereated tea - fish meal, dried blood, molases, bone meal, seaweed meal - ph 7.8, 7.4 when dilute.

Ok not had much time to give these girls. Mostly because I harvest my other and first grow not long after starting this. Time and illness have prevented me giving these girls much attention. This will change after the weekend.

I repotted within a week to 1/2 gallon pots. Today I repotted into 1 gallon pots due to them clearly becoming rootbound.

I have added a few amendments to my soil - fish meal, dried blood and some vermi. 3 of the girls are quite yellow. This set in in the past day or two and coincided with a sudden stretch as I swapped from 125cfl 3 days ago to 375w MH.

Hopefully the re potting will solve the yellowing, but that could also be down to ph. My PH runoff is coming out at 7.1 - with feed. I will check again next watering. My water is 6.4/6.5 consistent straight from the tap then run through a carbon filter.

You will see that 1 of the plants has twisted leaves and peculiar colouring. This, I believe, is ph. I topped all the girls at the start of the week, and strangely this one has recovered the fastest with 2 new heads approaching 1.5cm long already (the other 6 I can just see the fan leaves forming).

Will be the only time I top these girls. Will be LST'ing them the rest of the way. They will finish in square pots that I am probably going to have to make myself. My total space is 1.5m x 1.2m so I'm going to go 45cm x 60cm x 1m (deep) for my final pots.

Will monitor the yellowing over the next couple of days. If it progresses then I shall foliar feed them. There is some purple stems, but I am putting that down to a very consistent room temp of 21 degrees c.

Next grow I'm going to put them in initial pots as above and then straight into 1 gallon pots. The roots grow just so damn fast in the early days.

  16. Problems with on of the Dance World

Any ideas? Simple n or p lockout I'm thinking. Going to foilar feed this eve to see if it helps (as I should have done yesterday).

    Attached Files:

  17. Losing the will with this grow. Just when I think Im over one deficiency anothrr crops up.

Discovered my ph run off was high 7 for all plants. Flushed the lot and foliar fed for a week. They started to look healthier so I repotted.

Lo and behold it nownlooksnlike n deficiency/lockout. ahhhhh lol

    Attached Files:

  18. Just fed the girls. 16l of organic tomato feed with seaweed extract divided between the 6.
Ph of 5.9 for first 8 litres and 6.3 for the second.
Run off on all plants of 6-6.3
Lots of deficiencies showing in all plants. One has bad phosphorus (a leaf went black and then curled up within a day). Others showing all types of other deficiencies including sulphur, nitrogen, calcium, magnesium and possibly iron.

  19. I've read that high CBD grows can be tough.

Ok down to 3 dance world and two royal medic.

Killed off a dance world as most the other plants recovered from previous problems and this one was stunted, ratty and every branch was deformed.

Lollypopped all the branches that were showing stunted and distored growth.
I have a feeling one more plant may go soon, and at the mo im undecided whether to take the remaining four to flower or take cuttings and start again.
