  1. Hey all!

    I learn something new every time I do a journal and it's just a great way to keep records to refer back to for the next grow.

    I love Kush!

    OG ghost train haze # 1 from is Rare Dankness Seeds
    Kosher kush is from Reserva Privada

    day 1 = seeds in water
    day 2 = seeds in wet paper towel
    day 3 = fast germination, seeds to plugs

    OG Ghost Train Haze #1 information from Attitude
    "OG Ghost Train Haze #1 is one of Rare Dankness's most popular creations
    The Original Ghost OG crossed with the Nevil's Wreck. A powerful amped up high, with the most amazing, sugary trichs. Aromas lean toward sour and hazy, extremely unique terpene profile and a hearty return percentage
    It takes 65-80 days to flower.
    GhostTrainHaze is a seed line that ANYONE can grow and find a high THC phenotype
    The GHT #1 tested at 25%+ THC and has been named The Strongest Strain on Earth - High Times 2012
    The winner of the Best US Sativa HighTimes Cannabis Cup in Denver 2014, US Hash High Times Cannabis Cup in Seattle 2014 and additional 4 HT medals and 5 local cannabis awards."

    Kosher Kush information from Attitude
    Reserva Privada Kosher Kush Indica Cannabis cup Winner for 2011 Flowering time: 9-10 weeks Yield: 450-550g/ m2 The winner, KOSHER KUSH, is an amazing strain out of California. It is a stinky over the top strain with an average yield making all who smoke it feel "blessed". She grows tall so pinching will help tame her as well as beef up the yields. She is easy to grow for the beginner and a challenge to master for the expert. The Kosher can handle moderate to heavy nutrients and has a great bud to leaf ratio making her easy to trim. Kosher Kush will instantly become your favorite smoke. Any herbalist who tries her wants more....

  2. Day 12 = tap water ppm = 47, added GH notes at ratio of 1:1:1 up to ~ 100 ppm
    Day 13 = roots out basket, in water for haze, no roots visible for kush, not nute change
    Day 14 = following lucas formula, GH notes, 1:2 micro:bloom up to ~ 120 ppm, pH ~ 5.8

    The tent is up!
    So far just some fluorescents, but MH/HPS soon to come

    Good to see you chiefton8!

    I have an update, but not a great one.

    Day 34 from seed
    Plants have been under very low light, 15-100 watts fluorescent, for the last few weeks, but surprisingly look pretty good. Noe they're under a 600 watt hps with a carbon filter.
    Plan to start flowering early november.

    They should take off now under a real light, hope to have a better update in 2-3 weeks.

    OG ghost train haze is the bigger one, kosher kush the other.

  9. They will appreciate the light dude.. Im gonna tag along as well .

  10. Great to have you along Yoda!
    Only a couple days under the hps, and can already tell the difference.

    current conditions:
    res temps = 58-72 F
    res ppm = 280 ppm (still lucas formula 2:1 bloom:micro GH nutes, no other additives necessary at this point)
    pH = 5.8
    inside tent air temp = 77 F
    outside tent air temp = 71 F

    Right now too much effort is required to get the res temps down. Have been using gallon jugs with tops cut off for making ice blocks to cool the res, but even at 2-3 gallons if ice a day, temps are getting back up to 72 every morning. $280 later, I'll have a 1/10 hp water chiller on the way. Based on the specs, this chiller should have no problem lowering 14 gallons of ~ 75 F solution down to my target range of 62-64 F.

    I've also found my 160 cfm inline fan is far from adequate for my setup. So for now, I'm having to keep the ballast at 50% power, which is ok at the moment, but in a week or two when the plants are craving that wattage, it would be criminal. I have a 310 cfm fan that sits outside the tent on the way as supplement.

  11. Day 59 from seed
    Day 1 flower

    pH = 5.8
    ppm = 250
    air temp = 78 F
    water temp = 65 F

    The system is finally complete!

    I'm growing these plants with a friend, and I only see them every 2-4 weeks, so she is in charge of keeping them alive. Well, despite her best efforts to kill them :) they are kicking ass! I came on Friday to learns that the pH and ppms had not to been checked in over a week.
    I checked the pH, it was 4.

    I got a chiller, it is badass.

    I also supplemented air flow with a stanley blower.

    Importantly, my 600 W light has been running at only 50% power, but now with adequate airflow and a water chiller, we are operating at 100%!

  12. Looking beautiful!! Seems like you got the system dialed in! :)

  13. Thanks chief!

    Yep I'm finally approaching my dream system, close to self sufficiency!

    Now I just need a controller for pH and ppms and I'll be set
