The Docs TriStrain adventure: (White Widow, Bubblelicious and Amnesia) Waterfarmed and SCROGed

  1. Hello everyone and welcome back to a new and exciting adventure with 3 new strains (for me) to grow.

The strains are (from top left and clockwise throughout this grow):
    1-Green House White Widow
    2-Nirvana Bubblelicious
3-World of Seeds Amnesia (free seed)

Medium: Modified Waterpack ACS. Basically, it is a 3x waterfarms all connected together and to a main res. and a top off res that sits above the main res. This was purchased from GHE. I modified the system by adding many 1/4" holes to the top container allowing the roots to grow into the bottom res (in a DWC fashion). Airstones were added to all the reservoirs and the top water dripper works when the lights are on only!

GRoom: 1.2x1.2x2.0m grow tent (Lighthouse Lite). Mid 70sF average temp and the humidity will be maintained in the 50s and 60s range during veg and much lower during flowering to increase resin production. 2 fans will be blowing lightly on the plants to help strengthen the stems.

Lighting: 600w MH during veg and stretch period of flowering then HPS during flowering. The light is cooled via an 8" glasstube with reflector wings. The tube is attached to an 8" extraction fan by Xplair (rated at 614 CFM). I want to increase the lighting wattage to 1000 in this groom and I want to try mixing HID and LED here. I plan on purchasing an LED around 400w actual but I still don't know what to get (checkcing Optics, area51, Amare's SE350UBV). I got time til flowering as I only intend to increase the light wattage during flowering.

Growing style/training method: SCROG using a DIY screen made with CPVC and 1/8" nylon string (2"x2"squares). An elastic scrog screen may be used later if needed to support the heavy buds and will be placed about a foot above the scrog screen.

Feeding: RO water with calimagic added to about 200-250ppm (any less and I usually get cal deficiency) and little B Essential (by GH which is essentially micro and submicro elements that I'm missing by using RO) to a total ppm of no more than 250-300. My base nute line will be GH FloraNova @ their recommended dosage. Diamond Nectar will be used also at the recommended dose during the veg stage. I may supplement PK later. Great White will be used directly in the res when i'm super busy to brew Heisenberg's tea. My recipe for this is: in 1-2 gal water I add a tablespoon molasses, half a scoop GW and a handful EWC in a sock and brew for 48 hours in a warmer room so the brew temp stays in the mid to high 70s.

  3. On Thursday August 7th i placed the 3 seeds (from top left clockwise: WW, BB & Am) between 2 wet paper towels. On the 3rd day, Monday August 10th, all 3 seeds had taproots (see pic). PHed tapwater is running in the Waterfarms for this stage. The seeds were placed directly between the hydrocorns which had been soaked in pHed water with flushing agent for 24 hours prior to setting up and recirculating the hydro.

  4. Two days later, on the 12th of August, all 3 babies popped their heads out of the hydrocorn

  5. 6 days later, on the 18th, I emptied out all the tap water and replaced it with RO water with GH's Diamond Nectar at the recommended dose, Calimagic to 220ppm (700 conversion) B Essentials to 250ppm and FloraNova grow to final ppm of 550 (x700 conversion) pH maintained around 5.8. Great White added directly to the main res.
The 24th was the start of the Veg stage and the end of the seedling stage.

  6. Once the roots of the BB and Am hit the bottom res they shot up fast and much faster than the WW as you can see in the pic below. WW roots still haven't hit the bottom res. This pic was taken yesterday the 10th of Sept, 2 weeks and 4 days of veg.

  7. Today, I decided to FIM the BB and Am. I am hoping for the WW roots to hit the bottom res soon and catch up in height before I set up the SCROG screen.
    Pics are:
    BB
    Am
    then WW

  8. On Sunday, sept 13, I changed the res water with RO water and Diamond nectar, calimagic and B Essentials at their manufacturers recommended dose. I upped the nutes a bit (FloraNova grow) to a final ppm of 650 (from 550) and the pH allowed to slowly fluctuate a little with 5.8 being where the pH is most the time. The girls loved the increase in ppm. WW roots finally hit the bottom res yesterday and there's already a noticeable surge in its growth as of today, though it's lagging about 4-5 inches behind the other 2. This will be annoying as the other two are about ready to go under the scrog screen. I guess I'll have to train the other two away from the WW reserving some space for the WW. Thoughts and ideas are welcome as always 😉

I forgot to mention that yesterday I turned the ballast to 100% and raised the light a few inches. Today, i noticed the BB exhibiting more of that "praying" effect with the leaves pointing up and towards the light. I guess shes trying to let me know shes loving the brighter light ;-)

  11. The WW is catching up to the others and I FIMed her today.
Last night I ordered Optics CXB3070 360w 4000k. Now, I am just anxiously waiting 😉

  12. A quick update .... today is the last day of week 4 of veg (or 6 from seed). The girls are growing beautifully and the WW is definitely catching up to the others now that her roots are in the bottom res. Both BB in pic 1 and Am in pic 2 showed sex (anyway they were feminized seeds). The 3rd pic shows them getting fuller for sure.

  13. Good looking girls you have here. I'm interested to see how your GHWW does. I've done a few grows with Ceres WW and wanting to try the GH.

  14. Cheers Kenny and welcome .... this is my first ww and I got her now and another bean from black label "Black Widow" to try maybe in the following run. Welcome aboard bro!

  15. Oh cool. I'm real curious to see the difference in the Black versus GH. I will grow them all eventually because WW is my favorite. It's my go to and always gives me what I'm looking for.

  16. You're making me even more anxiois than I already am for harves day hah

  17. But yeah when I read about the strain I decided to grab both and try both strains to see which one I like best to keep. Read and heard a lot about it but sadly never had the privilege to try it!

  18. Today, I put up the diy SCROG screen which i simply built with 3/4" cpvc and 4 elbows for corners and 4 Ts to extend the pipes down for stands.
I raised the ppm to 700 and raised the light a little to spread the light more. Now its just a waiting game:
1Waiting for the screen to fill 75%
2waiting for my Optic CXB3070 360w to arrive in the mail to supplement this 600w HID
Until the next update, happy growing yall 😉
