How long can I go without watering?

  1. Hey there I have two giant females which are outdoors planted in the ground... I am moving to a city over about twenty minutes from the plants I was wondering how long I can go without watering? The longest I've went before is two weeks but I don't want them to get stressed out or anything, I want a real professionals opinion if you've anything rude to say don't bother

Well if they are planted in a very large pot or in the ground then i guess you should be fine with watering once every week or so just water really well before leaving.

You could tell if the plants need water by the leaves if they are drooping down, falling over or shriveled and feel dry then they need watering. You could also check the first few inches of soil if bone dry then maybe its time [IMG]

  3. Oh okay, yeah they are in soil instead of pots there about 5 ft tall so I figured watering once every two weeks would do... I can't really go to them because I'm scared someone may see me because they are alongside a river that a lot of people fish on so going at night is the only way for me to get water to them... Basically wanting to know how long a plant can go without water... Worst case scenario

my plants are over an hour away from me I planted on Mother's Day and watered once when I planted and haven't watered sense except a few days ago when I watered in some bone meal...
it's all weather and location dependent

  5. I wouldn't be waiting two weeks..

  6. How often you need to water depends on several factors. Soil type, strain, size of the plant, amount of sun received, amount of wind received (especially with pots), and most of all how much natural rain they are getting. Also in your case if they are close enough to the river bank they may be able to draw some water from the river water...which is a commonly used method especially in guerrilla grows. With larger plants in a average loamy soil type The absolute bare minimum of water they should get is a heavy watering once a week WITHOUT RAIN. If your plant(s) happen to get a solid shower or 2 per week...they shouldn't really need any hand watering at all. I guess my best advice would be to monitor the weather daily for your plants location and look to see how much rain they have gotten. This should give you a fairly good idea of when you might need to take some water to them. Good Luck.
