Allan Watts: Physical world audio, dream world lip sync.

  1. A couple of weeks ago I had a really interesting dreaming experience. I was listening to an Allan Watts late at night while lying in bed, and eventually I fell asleep while the lecture was still playing. In the dream state I was walking with a friend who started with me on spirituality,he was doing most of the talking and for the most part I was just walking beside him listening, this part is not that clear in my memory.

The dream got much more vivid at a later stage in the dream narrative when my cousin told me that he could do a really good Allan Watts impersonation. The mood of our verbal exchange was a very humorous one and he immediately got into it, now this part of the dream I remember well, because it felt so profound. I was amazed at how well he was doing the impersonation, and I kept telling him, "You sound just like him!" at this point he never responded to me, he just kept going never breaking character. All the time I kept thinking its not just his way of speaking that he was impersonating but his voice was identical to Allan's. I was watching him closely while he was speaking during the dream.

When it was when I woke up early in the morning that I realized that I fallen asleep with my Allan whats lecture playlist going. I was blown away because of how vivid the dream was and the fact that there was a perfect synchronous lock between the words and sonic characteristics of the "physical world audio feed" and the movements of his lips as he spoke the words. I mean I have experienced falling asleep with an Audio book going only to realize that the contents of my dream were very similar to the story when I went back to the parts that I had "missed" after I had fallen asleep. I had however never had a perfect lip sync experience like what happened with the Allan Watts lecture.

I'm really curious to know if anyone has had an experience like this before?
