  1. I just want to thank everyone on this site for all the advice each has been kind enough to share. I listened to the ones who knew their shit and they were all right!

This is my first grow, and the picture is part of one of mine after 5 weeks from seed.

  2. Congratulations, that is a nice looking plant you have grown.

Yea, gc is pretty cool. There are some decent and knowledgeable people willing to help. All the info you need is here somewhere.

  3. Thanks Jay. There sure are, most generous. The good people are easy to spot if you know what you are looking for....

  4. The one thing I learned is never to cut corners! Ever!

  5. Yea, I learned how to grow from here several years ago. Sadly many of the people who helped me aren't here any more for various reasons. I like using other forums as well for alternate sources of information but the people in the gc growing section are probably the nicest group.

  6. Yea, one of mine early on was not to cheap out on critical equipment. I bought a budget tent that had plastic corners, in less than one grow it broke and dropped my filter on a tray of seedlings and almost destroyed my cool tube. My filter, I went with a budget house brand that never worked. You could smell my indoor grow outside. The cool tube while decent, wasnt near as good as a standard cooled hood. I bought earthgrow soil from walmart ( a $2 bag of sticks and mud).

Ive learned that some things can be done cheaper, but some things just to spend the money on and get it over with. After all with the price of cannabis it doesn't take a much larger yield to make up for quite a bit of equipment cost.

  7. Great to know!

Many minds make for light work..

  8. Give yourself some credit. Plants don't grow with kind words. No matter what good advice you get, YOU have to carry it out. The plant will grow on it's own, but someone's gotta attend to changes and other requirements. Kudos to you!!

  9. Lol about time.

  10. I should be able to say the same thing here in about a week and a half. This forum and the great people on it have been invaluable to me and my babies. Your plant looks great.

  11. Beautiful plant. Good luck for a grand harvest. Keep us posted, please.

  12. Very nice and bushier than a 70s porn star! Good job my friend!

  13. Lol...thanks. They exploded week 4 into veg. Conditions are perfect! I have found so far that it is simple to do you just have to keep an eye on the critical elements.

  14. Just put them under hps 12/12 yesterday. So far so good...

  15. Looking really great so far. Get ready for the stretch, looks like she is going to be a really bushy one

Im Probably stoned and missed it, but what strain is she?

  16. I fear I left turning to flower too late? Reason is I was trying let the others catch up to her. It is meant to be rocket chunk, but her characteristics are completely different to the others so I am not sure?

  17. Looks like you're on your way to a very successful harvest, great work.
Cutting corners tends to cost more in the end as well i've found.

Take john deer tractors for instance, they zerk grease their spindles to make them last, cheap ones don't. That 50 cent part changes everything and helps it lasts. Anyway!

  18. I just wanted to post what helped me in case this helps another new grower. These are the most critical elements that I focussed on;

    1) read everything the senior members have posted. I read for days! Any spare time I have I am reading how to grow.
2)ensure you have the right equipment and dialled in tight. The right air exchange is key. My magic numbers are between 74 - 78'. My humidity sits between 40 - 60%. I have a 6" centrifuge fan dedicated to the light on a thermostat and a timed 6" dedicated to the room
    3) res temp I keep between 68 - 69' with a chiller. Bite the bullet and get the water to that temp! This advice is all over the the forum and is one of the best imo. I went 5 weeks in veg with the same solution and it was still as clear as day 1. Roots white as white and smell like ripe melon with alfalfa garnish.
4)aerate the living shit out of the solution! I have a 1000gph air pump aerating 15 gallons of total system solution. 5 inch stones in each bucket. Plants almost jump out of the pots...
    5) check solution levels morning and night. I keep my pH between 5.5 - 5.8. For my GH nutes I divided the recommended rates by 2.5 and my plants exploded!
6)I keep my grow room and general area like a laboratory. I don't give bugs anywhere to hide and survive.

I hope this helps, I feel good giving something back.

  19. Its never too late, you can always do some LST and cut some clones if she gets way too out of control

And all great advice you mentioned above. If only all growers, new and old, were as ambitious as yourself lol

One thing I might add to that list over my past year of growing would be to feed Veg nutes during the first week and a half or so of flower to ensure she has enough N to get her through the stretch and flower. Otherwise all great advice. Especially lots of oxygen in the res and keeping everything clean. Most important steps right there for sure, you can get by with high res temps if you have a ton of oxygen getting pumped

  20. Thanks dazed. I have no idea what to expect, just trying to feel my way through right now.. Thanks for the advice on the N . researching LST tonight.
