    Hey everyone.
Okay so about a month ago I drunkenly ordered some seeds from bonza not really expecting them to arrive, but they did so I have been reading and learning as I have never grown before and it's all happening now so I just wanted to share what I'm doing so I can maybe get some advice and grow some weed!
To get started I picked up some jiffy plugs to germinate in, wet the things and stuck a couple seeds in. I have one barneys farm pineapple express and one random freebie from bonza, I don't know what it is. I just sat them on a bench under a 60w reading lamp and left them.
I decided pretty early that I wanted to try a jumbo space bucket grow so I found a nice 60l bucket and some light fittings and I also lined the bucket with shiny insulation tape I had laying around and put a bathroom extraction fan in the lid. I was pretty drunk when I put it all together but I think it will be okay.
So by now a couple days have gone past and I was kind of busy do I didn't check them straight away but they both sprouted! Happy days!
I had CFLs for the bucket but on a whim I grabbed 4 12.5w (1055lm) leds instead.
It had now been a week since I planted the seeds so I decided it was time to repot them. I used some leftover plastic cups with a mix of 50% soil 25% vermiculite and 25% crushed up peat from the jiffy pellet and that's where I'm at.

  2. Looks interesting. Good luck!

  3. okay the bucket wasn't working out for me, i have started setting up a small cupboard instead. It gives me much more space and is a little bit less conspicuous than a bin with a power cable running into it. It currently has a single 138w led and some bigger pots with an experimental feeder set up on the left.
I also planted 2 fem nightshade seeds.
Sorry no other pics, lost my phone on the weekend...

Okay 24 hrs since repotting and going under led light at 12/12 mystery seed had stretched about 10cm and no change on the PE.

Top pic is both for comparison next is PE bottom is the mystery seed. Soil is nice and damp still so no water today.

No signs of life from the two night shade yet.

  7. Used some air con ducting tape and lined the walls and attempted to light proof the door for more sneakiness but it didn't work out too well.

PE still looks flaccid but the mystery seed is still stretching! Any ideas on the PE anyone? I'm thinking maybe because nights get down to about 10 celsius maybe it's just a little to cold at the moment.

Also ordered some fans and everything i will need to run them today, hopefully they won't take to long to get here.

    Also ordered another ufo led.

  8. Theres something wrong with my little pineapple express. It hasn't grown for days.

Soil is damp, haven't checked ph, no nutes.

    Any ideas?

She might be a little stunt from the swap and looks like the soil is too wet. Keep it close to the light and wait to water until soil is dry. Try to keep your sprouts closer to the light. Really cold temps can stop growth. Keep it between 60-75F at all times.

  10. At this stage its best to make them thirsty so roots grow well. Water every other day. Dont worry about nutes right now though wait until 3/4 weeks. What kind if water are you using?

  11. Thanks for the quick reply!

I poured 500ml of rain water from my tank when I transplanted but I haven't watered since then. That was five days ago. I will check the ph of the tank tomorrow.

It is under LEDs so temps are staying really low, and we are having a cold spring down here it is still getting down to 10C at night.

Do you think a heat pad would help?

  13. I have no experience with rain water but i would check PH levels.

I also have no experience with cold issues as where i live its hot all the time. Maybe someone with a little more experience in this area can chime in.. Lol :)

I will be moving to a cold season area in the next few months so I will watch your grow closely lol. If it were me I'd add some cfls to generate some heat plus your buds will benefit from it. Also maybe keep the grow area enclosed so the heat builds up and stays in there?

    Thanks again.

The cabinet doors stay closed and the cabinet is indoors but it's in a shed with no heating.

I think I will try to find a heat pad tomorrow and pick up a couple cfls.

  15. Quick update for my mystery seed. It's currently in the cabinet under 138w led 18/6. It hasn't been watered for a week as soil still moist.
This one is doing better than the little pineapple express.

  16. I just noticed the some new growth, do these look like pistils?

    Sorry for the sideways picture!

  17. Okay feed two days ago and will water again tomorrow morning then leaving unattended for 7 days hopefully soil will hold enough moisture that they won't dry out...

I know that's a long time but I'll be away for work and haven't had time to setup water time yet.

  18. Thats a little too long. If your going to leave them with no water 4 days is pushing it 7 days she might not make it. Id say before you leave soak it up. Its looking really good so far. Really hard to tell what sex though. Might have to wait a little more.

  19. I know it's a long time, fingers crossed! I guess I'll find out on Friday...

So I watered my plants last Friday at 0330 in the morning before I left for a work trip and I got home late last night but didn't bother checking as I was exhausted.

This morning when I went to have a look I was expecting some dead plants or maybe at least some sick looking plants...

    This is what I found.

Mystery seed is looking pretty good but has some yellowing on the end of some lower leaves, not sure what that means... But is smelling skunky as hell! I guess I will need to pull my finger out and sort out my extraction system!
