Subaru Forester engine swap

  1. Hey guys! So I am half way through an engine swap on my 2001 subaru forester.

So I blew a rod through block! So now I am in the process of an engine swap :/

So I have pulled the accessories off and have gotten the engine out. Now I am planning on getting a ej251 short block and putting my current heads on that.

  5. Also the picture of my hand with the giant rip ha

  6. Just put some super glue to seal out dirt. Burns a little but goes away.

  8. Are you gonna take the heads to a machine shop and get them checked out?

I checked them with a level and I think they are fine. the heads were just machied about 6 months ago

  10. have you thought about a ej22 swap to avoid the head gasket issue with the 2.5? Might not be enough power for the heavier forester tho I guess

  11. Drop one of these in and be done with it :p

You'll have to shove over 20lbs of boost in it before you toss a rod ;)

  12. Lol real funny :/ ha. My buddies dad has a zo6 so I've contemplated it :p

  13. Go for it... I doubt he'll miss it :p
