balcony monsters

  1. Hi guysHere goes... I have been growing indoors for several years and had no problems whatsoever. Well this year i moved and here there is no option to grow indoors so i said to myself well why not try outdoors. I have 2 white widows growing on my balcony. I have transplanted them several times as they were growing like mad all summer. The pot that is their last home is a 90liter pot. I thought that would be enough to finish them off.Well 2 weeks ago they started flowering and now... now things are going really bad really fast. From my indoor growing experience i always use ph'ed water, follow nute dosages, prepare right soil mixture, etc. etc., Plants grew into monsters on my balcony but now they are yellowing like mad from top to bottom. Inner smaller leaves are dying and drying fast. One of the plants is even showing macro nute deficincies on some of the forming nugs. The ph of run off water is between 5.5 to 6.5, nute dosage is pretty spot on. (im using GH 3part nutes). I think my plants are rootbound. im not quite sure but i think this is the case. I cannot transplant them into larger pots as i already have the largest ones i can fit on my balcony. If i go bigger neighbours would notice. I read about root trimming but i think that would be too much of a shock at this stage of bloom. Thought about cutting 1/3 of the roots and giving them some fresh soil but i read that plant compensates for the loss of root mass by removing some of the top grow (a no no as the best nugs are growing up there). So i ned your help guys. Should i leave them as htey are, up the nute dosage to compensate for deficincies that come with rootbound or? Please help guys, i worked too hard for them to just die at this stage.

  2. Holy shit that things massive, Im just taking a shot in the dark and saying maybe not enough nutes. That babies huge you said one was showing deficiency, looks like its just killing itself to survive. Whats the amount of nutes youre giving now? Also anyway you can snag a TDS meter, like $18 shipped

  3. I have been upping the dosage to see if that corrects the problem. BUt it started so suddenly.

  4. Hey magija,

I am currently having a similar issue. Two of my four just started going through an extreme yellowing of all of the fans. I am pretty sure that they are root bound which is a real pain because I don't have the space for larger pots either. Not quite sure how I plan on handling it yet.

  5. Yeah i know how you feel. I have started dosing them with a slightly larger dose of N alongside the bloom nutes. The large roots that circle around the pot no longer suck up any nutes and there is no space to form those white thin roots that actualy do suck up nutes. I try to keep the medium moist but not wet. My pots are 90-100liter pots so they are very large but the plants are huuuge so yeah rootbound. The plants are cannibalizing themselves hence the yellowing. I am presuming thst it will eatitself and once it reaches the root/canopy equality it will stop. I water them right by the stem so thst it doesnt drain at the sides where those nonfunctional roots are. Keep me updated how things go mate. all the luck to you

  6. Monsters omg

  7. Buzzland it seems to be working slowly. i have been upping the dosage slowly and watching them every watering. they seem to be slowly recovering.

  8. I know this is an old post but how did they turn out ? I'm getting ready for my 1st balcony grow I drilled holes into a 19 gallon rubbermaid tore for drainage lol yes 19 gallons 72 litres. It's legal here in canada now so I dont have to worry about someone seeing a monster.
