Did I smoke Sativa or ?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Oregoniannewbie, Aug 30, 2015.

  1. New smoker here. I was smoking on some weed that I got a friend. I don't know where he got it or what strain I got. I assume its a sativa or a sativa dominated hybrid. To me it was very trippy. I was thinking of about 5 different things at one time. I really couldn't constraint on one thing at a time. I worked on my roof all day, and my legs were very tired. I smoked 3 times last night and my legs were tired the whole time. To me my body was tired the whole time, thats kinda why I think it was sativa. like I said, I smoked 3 times watching movies all night, I didn't get tired at all.

Im just hoping anyone could tell me if it likely that I smoked sativa. I really want to get some indica. I am hoping to get the body feeling good after a ruff day. The stuff I have now is fun, but I need something that will hug my body and feel good. I only sleep about 4 to 5 hours a night. I live in Oregon and October 1st I will have more options to find find weed in the dispensaries. Thanks on any suggestions on if i probably smoked some sativa.

  2. Smoked the same strain last night. If anything this stuff is making me awake. I really need to see the difference with some Indica. For me though I could be smoking some indica. I just don't know.. O well.

  3. From what you described it sounds like a sativa dominant hybrid. I could be wrong though, I have had Sativa's that feel like indica's and indica's that feel like Sativa's. Phenotype's and genetics play a big part in how it effects you.

  4. The maturity of the trichomes when harvested affect the high as well. It can seem to radically change the affects you expecting from a strain if the harvest and curing are off.

  5. doubt it. Noone smokes hemp. Sativa = hemp

  6. Lol Bro no its not.
Sativa actually translates to 'cultivated' from Latin, and ALL cannabis plant have sativa in their name. But there are 'sativa cannabis indica' and 'sativa cannabis sativa' plants, I don't know the exact difference but sativa give you a head high and indicas a body high

  7. Lol Bro yes it is.
Indica actually translates to 'of india' from latin, and ALL psychoactive cannabis varietals originated in india. But there are subspecies 'indica' and 'afghanica'. I do know the exact difference. One being broad leafed with a shorter flowering time and one being narrow leafed with a longer flowering time commonly found in equatorial regions.

    cannabis sativa = hemp

cannabis indica ssp. indica = what we formerly called sativa.

cannabis indica ssp afghanica = what we formerly called indica

  8. You must have missed as I never attempted to translate indica.
Why are they 'formally' called those things?

  9. former and formal. two different words with two different meanings.
