Leaning plant Help o.o

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by NinjaPoodles, Aug 29, 2015.

  1. Ok so I'm like super duper paranoid at the moment of overwatering and the temp/humidity my little greenlings are living in.

    They're in my backyard workshop and I can monitor them from a device anywhere I'm at (29C - 41% humidity atm), but I checked them just now and THEY ARE LEANING!!!! LIKE A LOT..... IT'S LIKE SOMEONE TOOK A TINY BASEBALL BATT AND HIT THEM TO THE SIDE LIKE JESUS WHAT THE HEEELLLLL SHOULD I DO!?!?!?! IS THIS NORMAL??

    Here'S a pic for visual info;

    Support them with a tooth pic or add soil to support the main stalk.

  3. Is that all that needs to be done :eek:??
    I just did it, and they seem better, but I'm scared to damage the roots with the tooth picks

    Thanks for the advise !

  4. If you have some old twist ties (like from bread bags) you can fashion a mini tomato cage with some toothpicks. Or if you have pipe cleaners they will work even better!

  5. You won't damage the root but maybe bring the light closer to build thicker stem, it's falling bcs of its thiner stalk, lCk of sufficient light.

  6. Do you have air exchange or some kind of breeze shimmying the sprouts? Stems cant support the weight of the leaves and fell over. Sign of weak plants

  7. Yeah there's a fan strafe-blowing all day long at different blow forces all automatically synchronized -- Looks like a natural wind in other words; I think it's cause of the heavy leaves now that I sorted it out with nugbuilder's trick (the tooth picks), noticed the soil wasn't really pushed in, it was all fluffy, hence no grip for the plants to have, so I pressed on the soil a bit more to make it more solid (without exaggerating) and also the fan I use only blows in one direction (the one the plants were bending towards), so yeah those 2 things together might have been the problem all along, they're looking fine now :)

    thanks for the help !!

  8. Good luck no prob

  9. Needs a fan, air movement.

    Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum

  10. Little feedback, plants are doing great, since they go their support and harder grounds to hang onto, they really wanna sprout and conquer de world lol :D!! Especially the first one, she's got those nice 3x2 center top leaves!

  11. Is it ok if it's turning and shooting air, like it hits the plants only 20% of the air blow, cause I'm scared too much wind might blow them out of the soil if I leave constant air blowing directly at them, they have such little stems so far

    Thanks for the tip :)

  12. tooth pic helped a lot, sent feedback pictures a few replies up :)!

  13. Let em dry out a bit. They are showing signs of overwatering. Do you have some aeration in your soil like a perlite etc... Helps oxygen get to roots

    Well, apparently the soil I used claims to drain water with much ease, and from what I've noticed, it's really fluffy grains of dirt, like you can feel its really light and has lots of space between each grains and absorbs like 70% of water, the rest just goes trough the dirt like a labyrinth, as if it was 30% water-proof; kinda hard to explain, but I guess you can see the image haha.

    I just googled perlite, and yeah it does have those little white perlites, I'd say probably 2-3 grains per square inch, I guess it's already well dosed in the soil mix. I only gave water 3 times so far (soil was humidified when planted day1 then gave ~100-200ml of water days 4 - 7 - 11);
    Thanks for your remark, I guess I'll leave more time between watering times/check deeper in soil to figure if water is needed or not [IMG]

    Edit*
    I also noticed there was some tiny yellowish/greenish/greyish spots on the 2nd plant, is that due to the over-watering? :eek:

  15. It could be tough to see. I tried to get a close up and it almost looks like mites. Check the undersides of the leaves... BUT def let them dry out and i would say add more perlite. What soil you have them in

    I have them in some Miracle grow - Seed starting, here's a picture of it (soz for the cat lol)

    I'll try to get myself more of those pertiles for better oxygen - Noted ✓

    I'm really scared about those yellow spots, I really hope it's just a water problem D:
    I saw the different plant disease for Mj plants and they all look alike too, kinda hard to say which it is !

    I looked here

    http://www.thenug.com/galleries/diagnose-your-sick...

    I took these close-up pics of the leaves;

    Bottom of the leaf; you can only distinguish the same spots from the top side of the leaf on the bottom, but only when there's light on it, when it becomes transparent. Like there's no physical spots on the bottom, only the ones on the top that are seen [IMG]

    Edit*
    I looked more disease and as you say they really do look like spider mite spots, but I can't notice any black spots under the leaves D:

  17. It sure does look like a start of mites just keep an eye on it. They are tough to spot and not always dark color. Look for eggs also. Miracle grow is rotten company. Be careful. The soil doesnt seem to have much in it nute wise so should be ok. Just for sure better drainage or the sprout will be doomed from the start

    I though you'd maybe like an update [IMG]

    Finally they really were mites ! -- I started by spraying simple alcohol and water solution (60% alcohol) and it helped a bit, lots of the black spots under leaves got away... hence a few days later MUCH more came back, I though it was the end cause they ate that plant hardcore, like atleast 50% of the leaves were orange-yellowish with the tiny spots and was totally invaded --- So I went to hardware store to get anti-spider spray, but we don't have azamax or the good natural safe products like in the US, here in Canada. So the only good product I found that didn't say ''WARNING : DO NOT SPRAY ON PLANTS'' and was 'OK' for plants was a really really harsh product, Great Value that kills ALL INSECTS (indoor/outdoor).

    SO I used that and damn that thing was really toxic, I really though I'd kill the plants even though it said it was safe for plants, so I went All-in and sprayed the shit out of the under leafs, like it was snow land under there XD ---- Results : Next day little less than half the leaves were dead (yellow/brown, very dry), so I took them off. But the good news is the spiders were gone too ! Vanished and terminated can't even explain how well it worked. Few days passed and yellow leafs came back green, some didn't make it, but it was worth losing a few leafs to get rid of the spiders;

    Transplanted the whole thing last week and here's the new pic updates

  19. Looking way better dude nice

  20. You could bring them lights down a lil more. The more you bring them down the more lumens your light will provide for your babies.
