A complicated history with MJ

  1. So one request before I start: Don't judge.
Im a new user on grasscity technically not new because ive had an account before but forgot my password and username because I haven't used it. So shout out to you from Cape Town, nice to meet you. So to make a long story short I used to smoke weed just like all of you but last year I met this girl at school It was my final senior year in high school and she was and still is a devout christian ive always believed in God but she took me along to her church and I found God there. Its a pentecostal/charasmatic church. Anyway I commited my life to Christ, became born again and was very zealous in my faith and we even started dating. Fast forward 9 months and we werent geting along anymore and broke up i lost my zeal and went through a lot of ups and downs. Dont get me wrong I still love the Lord but I just lost my zeal so my question is do you think it would be a good idea to start using mj again for spiritual use and just chilling out and enjoying life im going to university next year in another city and actually have to take an access assessment test later this week to get admitted into the university so my mind is very occupied with that now as I will have to travel from cape town..new city amd everything so I feel that mj could help me get closer to God again because it sensitises me more and it would calm me down. I already have my reasons why I believe mj is not wrong or a sin basically because it depends on how you make use of it and not abuse it, im not asking you wether it is right or wrong but merely your opinion.
    Greetings

  2. It's all up to you, man...I don't think anyone could answer so personal a question other than the one asking it....

    Good Luck.....

In my personal experience, if you get a hold of quality green it tends not to push closer to any conventional religion but away from it. It has a mind of its own and the world and opinions it encourages are not generally those reflected in the mainstream religions except maybe Buddhism. Other potentials (I don't subscribe to any of these) are Jainism and any form of Gaian belief you like.

Some believers might disagree and I'm sure there are exceptions, as there are to anything else, but you don't see the Pope or Ayatollahs urging on large groups of people to smoke weed because it is something that goes hand in hand with their religion.

If your question is about spirituality, by all means fire away. If however you are looking to land in a specific religious camp via smoking, (In this case Christianity), good luck but do not be surprised if something different or exactly opposite happens.

  4. Weed strengthens whatever beliefs you already have. So if you want to feel closer to God then by all means blaze the bowl

  5. It can, and it can completely flip your beliefs inside out. Weed being associated with a completely changed perspective on things is a very common thing.

  6. True. For me tho weed hasn't so much affected my beliefs as it has completely changed the way I view myself, my behavior and my life

said it before and ill say it again - weed is a self-help drug

  7. You should not smoke again. The lord brought you a devout follower and you guys did not smoke, this is a sign from him that you are not to smoke. If he wanted you to smoke again, he would give you a sign to start again

  8. Wow - if "the Lord" has enough time to send a person individualized "signs" as to what and when they should smoke... you'd think he'd take the time to help the children drowning in the sea as they flee Syria. If he doesn't take the time, then you probably should not take his advice.. He's a sociopath.

  9. OP - You sound like your about 22. So I'd say a few things.

First, you lost your zeal because your cause is not inspiring. Jesus does not need your help and he doesn't need your prayers. But the world does need you. Do not worry that you lost your zeal, this is what rational thought feels like. Your are being called by your creator to stop the puppet show and make something of yourself. I know how you felt, believe me I do. I dated a girl, we went to a christian rock concert; it was grand... but it was fleeting.

We are the Human! We do not feel fulfilled by begging forgiveness for the sins of the dead. We feel fulfilled by overcoming challenges.

Allow to to close by summarizing the first command of God (according to the bible): Multiply and be fruitful; you have been given life. Love that life and see that it creates great things; to waste your life is to heap contempt upon your creator. Do not waste the short life you have been given seeking forgiveness for what you did not do.
