My Super Ghettto-Fabulous Setup

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Go Green!, Aug 29, 2015.

  1. So while at the hardware store today. I bypassed the damn bulbs and went straight to this beast. A 65 watt daylight cfl. This is positioned on the frame of my old light stand. I took out the glass shelve and now the cfl is in it's place. Not the greatest setup, I know. But it works fairly well. Oooh, and I found a seed in my OG Kush earlier. Too bad it's just a seed at this point I'd try to breed it with my indica.

  2. U want them cfls really close too like 2-4" but looks good
    How old is it

  3. Thank you :) 3 weeks old now. I was worried because of the super high intensity it'd burn the plant. Even worse since I don't have a fan in there yet.

If it's not uncomfortable to the back of your hand after 30 seconds holding it at your canopy level it won't be uncomfortable to your plants either is what i've read. I see though already your plants new nodes look closer together. Looks like it from the pic anyway. =) She looks a lot like my plants just stretched a bit more.

  5. Thanks :) unfortunately though that's just from the shadowing and seeing the picture from your phone. Makes her look a lot squat-ier than she really is. The first branch is quite a distance from the other leaves. At least I think I've got her to stop stretching (at least I hope) and I hope leaving this on won't skyrocket my electricity. The new sprout is still a sprout. Not much has changed there.

  6. 65 watts is not going to spike your power bill. That's like one normal light bulb on all day.

  7. I have like 700w total from my grow only raises Bill like 35$

  8. I wanted to put my girl outside earlier today (well tech. yesterday) since it was finally decent weather in the 70's. But then I realized. She looks much too weed-ish at this stage to stick her outside anymore. Don't want to risk getting caught lol

  9. Ooooh. And I just have to show you all this pic I just took. My god this gal is gorgeous ^_^ despite the slight light burns on her 5-fingered leaves it's not slowing her down a bit. You can even see a new set coming in, in the middle of the leaves.

How'd you get light burns with a 65 watt light? She's pretty, starting to branch out nicely for you now. Well damn if those are light burns i think mine are getting just a little bit too. and i was thinking about trying to bump it to 600 soon.. ...

  11. Very cool set up! Suggest a small box fan pointed indirectly and a few panels of something reflective....mylar, mirrors or plain white to capture all the light. There are ways to keep it small and simple. Keep it up my friend

  12. Thank you TaDow :) and Col the burns were preexisting from my 13 watt I had too close to the leaves apparently. I just hope there isn't a nutrient deficiency problem as well.

  13. You need to top or FIM her.

  14. Hmm.. Not sure how to do that

    I'll show u

  16. I would go with the FIM. More tops.

  17. Thanks Tri. But if I cut her won't she not produce bud? Idk why I'd have to cut part of it.

  18. I understand we all have to start somewhere, but READ, READ, and just when you think you've learned enough, READ MORE. You want to FIM or Top unless it's an auto flower. More tops means more bud....bud.

I remember going half on a dime sack
