My Simple Bubbler... First attempt at Cloning...

Discussion in 'Do It Yourself' started by #Groot, Aug 28, 2015.

  1. The Bubbler was made from stuff I had laying around...

Old Aquarium pump... Nail Buckets... Aluminum Tape...

    and the aquarium "Bubbler"....

A heat pad UNDER it works PERFECT...

The pixs show the start... and last picture is when the Clones turned the corner

to start a healthy future.... They went through hell because I didn't MIST them soon enough...
    .
Seems to be doing the Job...

Oh... The Foam was drilled to make room for some insulation...

Yeah... I had 100% success getting my Clones to root...

Finally bought a Galaxyhydro 200w LED...

The plants have been in soil...

Kind of a loose Cocoair /Sand /Perlite /EWC/Peat/Bone meal Combo...

I've just mixed a bigger batch of it in a concrete mixer today...

    Waiting on a small grow tent 2' X 4' X 59"

I'm using Kitty Litter Buckets ( Rectangle )

    6 will fit easy

I'll probably water by hand... But each bucket will have a drain fitting and hose...

to leak back to a reservoir...

This will be a Soil / Hydro hybrid grow...

I have One 200w LED... Might stuff another one in the tent ?

I have a cheap 45w LED for First week or two Vegging...

Just put Fence Stakes in the ground for the outside plants...
Might Frost ??? Scattered Frost in the area...

I'll be able to hang a sheet on the Fence Stakes

    Trying to STRETCH my Bloom time;,;

This is the Mother of half my Clones...
Plus I pollinated some of her Buds with a MATCHING strain Male

    This is 3 weeks budding...

  3. Ooooops... I don't even know which LED I bought...

    I got the 300w Galaxyhydro...

    and it's bright...
    .

  4. Anything in the water or just Ph water?

  5. NOTHING.... In fact I thought my well water had too much food...

So I boiled it... let it cool... and replaced the water...

  6. Interesting... I've read somewhere in one of these forums, or it was maybe a YouTube video, where someone tried RO water and said they all died. My water is somewhere between 90 and 120 PPM and that worked for me. I toss nutes in mine though, because I like them to come out with at least 12 inches of roots, if not more.

You "CAN" feed them after the roots start...

Although... if yer growing in soil... It's best to do it with shorter roots...

I think the "TEMPERATURE" is important... The heating pad under the water container

kept the water about 72 F .............85F and warmer kills them...

I used rootech clone gel... But I see people cloning WITHOUT any gels...

Cloning turns out to be easy.... But the beginning learning curve can be discouraging.

  8. Broke out the Bubbler again...
I didn't plan on cloning right now....
But I broke a top off... Actually pretty cool...
The part that is left I've got 6 branches all spread out...

The top that broke OFF was already broke from transplanting...
I braced it back up... and it was doing fine...
But I did some LST the opposite side of it's old wound...
    and it snapped right off...

So... it looked pretty good... I set-up the Bubbler again...
I even stuck a couple of the trim branches in a hole...
    Just as a test...

Originally this plant was a Clone from my Purple Kiss...
I want to save this strain...It's a Sticky ,Skunky , Thick Bud plant...
I've got Clones and some seed...I'll be happy for a long time.

This is one of the clones (Atomic Twinkie) from the homemade bubbler...
    Six clones were in the tent. ( 2 - A.T. and 4 - P.K.)

    Just Harvested two days ago...

Hmmm, seems like a long time... like my outdoor grow I guess.

I don't cut the leaves when I clone now...

    .
Here's everything ready for the Dome
    Everything was pre Misted...
But the Dome keeps them moist...
I "Air" them a little everyday...

Now to CRAM that cover on...
    It took some "Tucking"
But they "Perk" later and want to reach up...
Helping the "Tuck" each time I'm putting the dome back on...

Right now... They NEED that Dome

Should see roots in six days

  12. Here's the First Clones I started in the Bubbler...
Not bad for a 300w LED and a small tent...

  13. That bubbler looks great I've been thinking on making one

  14. I had Nail containers... But Box stores sell a lot of Plastic Containers...
Mix and match a DOME from turning a container over.
