I'm looking to purchase a new grinder either a space case or Santa Cruz shredder. But I always hear how everyone is worried about the shavings and what not and how aluminum in bad for our health.... Yet we put aluminum on our armpits every day and no one seems worried about that. I'm not sure if it's the same aluminum but I really want to purchase a grinder I just want to know if it's reasonable to not buy one due to possible aluminum shavings. Also if someone could tell me what grinder they prefer of the 2 and if you say space cause the titanium coated or the polished finish and why.
sharpstone, spacecase, chromium crusher, cali crusher. any of those are quality grade aluminum that wont cause shavings you can even use those little plastic grinders too. i find they work just as good for a fraction of the cost. personally ive had my sharpstone 4 piece for 5 years. no discoloring at all, no shavings, teeth are still sharp. happy with my purchase
Yeah like homstarstoner said, if you get one that is worth a crap it won't cause shavings. Also I had a $5 plastic grinder that lasted me almost 4 years. Had a kief catcher and everything.
Haven't tried any of those grinders before but my 4 piece grinder cost me just over $30. Its got a 3 inch diameter so it can fit plenty of herb. Had my 4 piece for about a year and my old 3 piece lasted 5-6 years which I recently gave to a friend. My point being that you don't need to buy a name brand grinder, regardless they will last a lifetime if you take care of it. Definitely one of the best investments a stoner can make. just make sure its a quality grinder and you won't have any issues. If your that concerned just twist it without herb for a little while to get rid of the shavings (if there are any)
