weird embryonic leaves

  1. Hello all. I'm new to all of this. I partake for a condition I have called non diabetic peripheral neuropathy. I decided to try growing for obvious reasons. I have a rudimentary setup. I just want to learn what to do and what not to do. It's been fun. I've never grown anything before.
What's odd is one of my plant's embryonic leaves. Here's a pic. None of the others look like this. Any info would be helpful!

  2. I was paranoid about it when i started too, hell i still am. I'm a noob too but personally i think your ok with the funky leaves, I had one grow out only one side and she's still alive at day 15 and pretty healthy too. They just do weird things sometimes is my understanding. You probably want more light though, it looks like your plant might be stretching to find it. I'm a noob too don't forget just saying what i see and contributing my 2 cents. Let me see if i can find a pic of what she looked like early on so you can see how good yours actually looks =) There it is, see she only grows out one side, and still does to this day. You'll be fine. She was also overwatered if you can't tell, that's what an over watered baby mutant looks like.

  3. Seedlings can be weird sometimes. As long as your normal leaves are looking fine I wouldn't worry about the cotyledons or the single blade leaves.

  4. Thanks for the replies! My lighting was insufficient but I've since remedied that. Two more things that I need are a digital humidity and temp thermometer. Taking care of that tomorrow. Where I live it can swing wildly near and thru Autumn and we don't have central air in the house.

  5. I've got the same problem, i control the heat by opening windows or turning on the base board heater. I'm from las vegas so you can imagine how weird it is for me to live in a place like oregon where almost nowhere has air conditioning. I would trade my a/c for legal weed any day though.

  6. I have had that in the past. I'm not sure what causes it but it's probably just received some damage as it was first starting to grow and as it becomes bigger, the effect becomes more apparent.

In my cases it's not something that ever spreads, gets worse, or anything like that. I wouldn't worry about it at all

  7. Is that Christmas tinsel? Lol. Def overwatered, the soil or medium is not aerated enough. It looks to me like you have a fungal disease. It may or may not correct itself without you doing anything. I use beneficial bacteria from the moment I germinate and never have issues with plant diseases. Beneficial Bacteria fights off and prevents fungal attacks and disease before they take hold. You use this along side with your normal nutrient feeding. You can buy this at your local hardware/nursery etc. Avoid buying it from your local hydroponic shop as it is expensive and can also be a gimmick. If you don't want to use beneficial bacteria, then don't. This is what I use, in the states they have other products like Aqua Shield and SM-90. I believe these products contain Beneficial Bacteria. 8. Who knows, it might be a retarded Turner plant and your THC potency will be tripled :D!

One of my leafs started a bit like that and came back to a normal stretch, and overall plant is quite healthy; I wouldn't worry about it - Just give it as much care, love and maybe even a bedtime story, just as any other plants :)

If your talking about my little plant up there, it's just a pipe cleaner helping her stand up that happens to be silver. The wind in the box was really pushing her around and i was worried she'd get pushed over. She's fine today i was just showing him how weird seedlings can be. yep she was over watered, learned that lesson fast. She still grows out one side today but she's a lot bigger and the side she grows out of is bigger than any of the other normally growing plants i have. It's just weird.

  10. Well hope it comes good, I had numerous tard problems in the past and they eventually worked out ok, just had less yeild. I didn't know at the time that I was getting a fungal attack. Good luck.
