Well I have been a daily smoker for about a year now an OZ a month to be exact and I always mix with tobacco spliff's, lately for the last few weeks or so I've been coughing a lot and now my throat is full of mucus, I'm unsure if it's caused by the weed or the fact that I use cigarette every time,, would this go away if I stopped using cigarettes, it's not a problem for me to not use cigarette, just a lot of people who I know who smoke use it so I started as well, if it will help my throat I'll stop using it, any answers would help a lot thanks.

  2. I don't smoke spliffs, but i smoke cigs and about the same amount of bud and smoking both regularly makes me cough way worse then if i only smoked bud. tobacco is poison lol.

  3. Yeah, cut out the tobacco that shit will kill you if you let it

That said, either way you're inhaling burning plant matter...

It's a GOOD sign that you hack up some phlegm, that just means the cilia lining your lungs/throat are working properly
That shit your coughing up isn't supposed to be inside you

  4. I love a good cig after toking tho...pure bliss

  5. Here in the netherlands its more than normal to use tabacco in your joints. When you smoke pure the couching is even worse in mine opinion. But Hey you just need find out what is the best for you !

  6. While true, the green stuff usually hasn't been pumped full of various carcinogens in the name of 'enjoyment.'

And yeah, it doesn't take long for cigarettes to screw up the lungs. I lived with someone for a while that began smoking in their room and thought I would not notice (I guess they missed the big air intake for the downstairs system just outside their door). Caused symptoms of bronchitis in a matter of a few days...they are gone and now my lungs are more or less back to normal.

  7. I never got the idea of adding tobacco to joints, people say "it helps conserve the weed", but if conservation is the goal then they should roll smaller joints or smoke bowls, instead of adding cancer.

  8. I don't smoke Cigs at all, I can tell you since I have started MJ in May I have more mucus in my throat mainly in the morning but I do notice it most of the day, just not as bad. I get the mucus when I smoke, not when I vape. I think it is due to throat irritation. As for my lungs, they feel like they open up a lot and I can breathe better after I smoke a joint. I live over a mile high so it might be more noticeable here than other places.

  9. they'll both make you phlegmy and coughy because smoke is smoke, however like most I've found smoking tobacco overtime crushes my lung capacity and gives me a cough - which is much worse when I only rip dirty glass bongs for weeks - while weed just gives me a mild cough and actuaslly greatly helps me boost my lung capacity (taking big hits etc)

I think it's because tobacco burns at a higher rate and cannabis medicinally helps your lungs cleanse themselves, so it counteracts a lot of the damage it does
