Two journalists shot dead live on air

  1. Of course he did. I'm surprised he didn't do it right then and there. I don't even have words for this guy. I'm not religious at all but in times like these I really wish hell existed because that's what people like this deserve.

Woah...a shooting where we're actually going to blame the crazy person responsible and not firearms as a whole?

    I'm shocked

  3. It is refreshing to see people finally moving onto the mental health issue.

Give or take a few sheltered brainwashed Europeans most people realize its not the inanimate objects fault, its the humans.

  4. Every major study on the topic pretty much shows that due to appeals it costs more to put someone to death than to imprison them for life. If you want some sources I'll find you some later. As for your other point, there is no such thing as pure objectivity when it comes to the criminal justice system or any system which involves people. There's always room for error and bias when you are dealing with people which is why I generally think it shouldn't happen unless it's a nationwide tragedy (Boston bombing, movie theater shooting, etc) that has some kind of irrefutable r riddance or confession. I think the federal government should have the right to use the death penalty on people like the Boston bomber or other cases where the evidence is overwhelmingly against the defendant but not necessarily states. The question is it worth to put innocent people to death, which will inevitably happen and has happened many times in order to put certain criminals to death instead of them spending life in prison. I don't think there's an easy answer, but for me the combination of innocent people losing their lives and the overwhelming cost of execution, especially since it's become very hard to find execution drugs, makes execution not very feasible unless it's a really major kind of crime. At the end of the day it's just my opinion though.

  5. Lol

  6. Should I have posted it in the Sports sub, or maybe the Sex, Love and Relationships sub?

  7. Which is why we need strict gun control and purchasing laws that would make it hard, if not impossible, for a mentally ill person to obtain firearms.

  8. Maybe we should ban reporters.......[IMG][IMG]

Anyway.... Heres what you need to know:

Shooter was a former employee that had been fired and had to be removed from the station via police escort. He claimed racism and had attempted to sue the station. The lawsuit was thrown out.
He was previously fired from a number of other stations and had made similar claims.
Reporter and cameraman dead. Interviewee in critical condition having been shot in the back
Shooter had attempted suicide after a police chase, and is in critical condition

  9. I heard about this this morning...

Fucking crazy world we live in.

No words to describe how I feel for the families of the victims. I can't even imagine..

You go to work thinking it's going to be just like any other ordinary day and then something like this happens.

Because drugs are so hard to get right???? I mean they're illegal, so by your logic, it should be impossible for anyone to get any drugs. Of course we all know different.
Gun laws only make it harder for LAW ABIDING people to obtain them. They do NOTHING to stop people bent on destruction and death from getting them. What gun laws actually do is make a society of unarmed victims ripe for the picking.
We need LESS GUN LAWS. It should be as easy as going to your local supermarket and picking out a tomato, unless you agree with the idea of the police having a monopoly on self preservation. Last I checked I OWN ME, and I HAVE THE RIGHT under the 2nd amendment to exercise my own self protection.

No to mention the police have NO DUTY to protect you and I.... Its not their job (Despite the BS slogans on the side of their cruisers). Their job it to ENFORCE LAWS, not protect anyone..
And when seconds count - Cops are minutes away. I'd rather be strapped and take my chances, than be an unarmed victim.

    [edit]
People should not fear their government, the government should fear the people.. .But what do they fear from a bunch of unarmed lemmings???? NOTHING.

  11. It won't bite them because the leftist media will do their best to bury the race angle.

Now if a white guy murdered two black reporters, then it would be a different story.

Psychotic people do psychotic things regardless of race or job description. Murder is murder. Trying to make mental illness a racial or political issue is why it keeps happening. If the politicians opened the mental health treatment centers back up nationwide (the ones closed due to funding issues) maybe men like this could be stopped before they start.

It was Ronald Reagan who closed them all.http://www.salon.com/2013/09/29/ronald_reagans_shameful_legacy_violence_the_homeless_mental_illness/

  13. True - But there was a lot of political pressure to do so as well because of expose`s like this:

  14. And this is why we can't get sane gun control laws......

  15. We should make murder illegal too.

Lets make all crime illegal too. You are a true scholar.

I know you're trolling but there are actually people as dumb as that, they think laws are magical spells cast on the populace by wizards.

  16. First of all stop calling it gun control, its prohibition that you want. We already control our legal guns just fine, now if you wanna rant about mental health or the inner city gang problems that are the real plagues to this country then go ahead, but dont be just another naive dolt that acts like "gun control" is the buzzword that will lead us all to a utopia.

  17. Buying a gun should take into part someone's mental health history, background check (i.e. felon), etc. You will never ban all the guns, but you can reduce the violence with little steps rather than sweeping overhaul. That never works...just look at The Drug War.

  18. Couldnt belive this

  19. No. Actually it's gun control. You can call it prohibition all you want. That's your prerogative. But please don't try and dictate to me what words I should or should not use. It's gun control plain and simple. We need it and need it now.

  20. Maybe you should cut back on the hysteria a tad. It's a bit over the top. Pace yourself.
