horrible edibles experience

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by bluemoogle, Aug 26, 2015.

  1. Have any of you guys ever experienced this? I made some really strong edibles with one of my friends a couple nights ago and let me tell you I have never ever felt like I felt that night in my life. First of all, the brownie icing we made had lecithin in it (I read it gets you higher) so that could account for the gross feeling but I don't think it is to blame. We made the brownies so well and so to the book that we were ecstatic to try them and get super high, but we didn't expect what would actually happen. We started off with one and eventually had about one more half an hour after the first one. I could almost begin to feel the high 20 minutes into the first one and it was horrible right off the bat. I felt super dizzy and when we stood up to go get dinner I could barely feel my body at all.

So everything is going bad at this point, but bearable. I was thinking that maybe I was tripping or just not having a good time and everything felt so difficult. We eat, walk home, get lost but eventually make it and just straight up fall down on the couch. I stared at the wall for like three hours it felt like and then I somehow woke up on the ground vomiting in my mouth. I got up as quickly as I could but only made it to the kitchen sink where I threw up all over the dishes. I woke up again to the sound of my phone ringing and tried to reach for it but I couldn't move my body at all and fell back asleep. I woke up on the ground and tried to move to the toilet to vomit again but since I was completely paralyzed I just ended up throwing up on the floor. I just kept thinking to myself, when will it end? How can I make it go away faster? I've never been so uncomfortable in my entire life!

I woke up for the third or fourth time and made it to the bathroom to vomit but only ended up vomiting once and then dry heaving for half an hour. I passed out on the bathroom floor. I also had to remind myself how to breathe because I kept forgetting and no breath seemed like enough. Then suddenly I wake up on the floor and move to the couch still high as a kite. It's been almost nine hours at this point and I still felt like I was at the peak of the high. I end up calling someone to come get me because the thought of taking the shaky bus home made me ill even to think about. The weird thing was, I was convinced that I was dying and I genuinely got upset that I couldn't say goodbye to my family or other friends and if I could have moved I probably would have phoned 911 to take me to the hospital. I had my first day of training the same day too and I got to work still stoned and tried so hard to concentrate that my brain hurt at the end of my shift. The worst part was, I was spacing out and my manager wasn't oblivious to the fact that I was stoned on my first paying day of work. She kept asking me if I was alright and even commented today about how much better I looked today and how overloaded I looked on my first day.

So have any of you ever experienced this kind of high? One where you're throwing up and falling in and out of consciousness and lasts for 24 hours? This experience has made me want to quit smoking weed entirely or at least for a few months while I recover emotionally. Any advice for a quick recovery from something like this? Thanks xxx

  2. I have never had that experience. I think you're right- stop using cannabis- it's not for you. Why in the world did you eat so much so fast? That was a real noob move, mate. Just sleep for the next 24 hours. Then lay off the bud unless you learn how to use it responsibly. Sorry you had such a bad experience. Must have been some good bud.

  3. Too much bud, edibles are WAYYY stronger, and you had too many. Lay off of the bud for a while, don't blame weed for your mistake.

  4. So I'm sure the timeline got a little skewed trying to remember what happened but.

"Had one more about half an hour after the first one"

"Begin to feel the high 20 minutes into the first one and it was horrible"

    Think I found your problem......

  5. I'm not blaming the bud I've smoked it hundreds of times without having any of these problems. I think I just made them too strong. Thanks for your advice! I'll be more careful in the future if I decide to do that again.

  6. Hm pesticides could be a possibility... I never even considered it. You never know what kind of crap people put in their plants to make them grow and since I ingested so much it could have made me sick. I don't have a gluten allergy I got myself checked earlier this year when I was having abdominal problems. Thanks for your input!

  7. You overdosed thats what happened. Same thing happened to me i thought i was going to die, it was not fun at all. I think now you know next time you make brownies you wont be eating 2 of them so think of it as a learning experience.

  8. It would be awesome if you told us how much herb you used in your brownies, so we can avoid making the same mistake ourselves. :)

  9. Probably used about 1/2 ounce give or take. It was a good learning experience. I would probably only use 5-8g next time.

  10. Definitely. It was so scary I was actually upset that I wouldn't see my parents or say goodbye and shit. I'm taking a hiatus for a while but I'll stick to smoking it when I feel ready again. I know my limitations now and I'm thankful for the whole learning experience.

  11. Man makes me want to eat one of your brownies.

  12. Next time be sure to measure, don't eyeball. A scale is mandatory equipment when making edibles. ;)

  13. They were pretty strong and tasty man if your edible tolerance is pretty strong I could give you the recipe. Although, due to my experience I wouldn't recommend it.

definitely just tweaked out from taking too much. you've clearly learned your lesson and so did my fiance a few years ago when i made an exceptionally strong batch of cookies. i told her eat 1 and wait an hour. 4 hours later i found out she had eaten 5 of them and was puking in the bathroom for an hour. not fun when your entire extended family is at a concert and your (then only 20) year old gf 'appears' to have ingested too much alcohol. drinking age here is 21 so the event staff wasn't thrilled. they didn't believe she just ate something bad and got food poisoning, it's a rock concert after all.
