Hello! First indoor grow, got some outside grow under the belt. So I setted up my little 2x3 closet to grow 2 auto to try something inside. My actual grow space is probably more 2x2. I run a 4" 192 cfm exhaust to a carbon filter outside the closet in one other closet. The intake of the fan is right by my light socket to get the most of heat out. Works pretty good. Intake is passive. I have a 6" 420 cfm I may use instead of the 4". Will see... On the light side of thing, I run a Quantum horticulture 1000w dimable ballast. It is running dimed at 50% with an Emperor 1000w HPS light bulb. The light cycle is 18-6 to limit light stress. I used Coco mixed with perlite about 65-35. Got two 5 Gal smart pot. Its not the brand, but equivalent quality. I use Omri certified ferts, got the whole range of the brand I used or almost. Won't be that usefull with autos but hey, may need it. Ill show of my collection if asked in the future. Soaked the two pot with humic/fluvic acid and something else to help before planting. Then water only for now. I have one auto Big Devil#1 I got as a freebe and one auto Early Miss from Crop King Seeds. both germed and broke true the soil yesterday. Here's the early miss after a full first light cycle. And the big devil, seed cap still visible if you look close enough. I will keep updating as it goes. Keep in mind this is my first indoor grow, bring the constructive comment in and fo not hesitate asking questions. My english is also not perfect...
Day 2 !! So, everything looks good in there!! I watered a little, coco was getting dry on the top. They are taking life rapidely!! Let's hope it keep that way >_> Early miss Big Devil #1 They are almost an inch if not yet. Official mesurement tomorow!! Lets see how it goes from here...
Day 3 : Things are going well I think!! The early miss looks a little bit faster in the early stage. She stands at 1"1/2 Top angle : Big devil #1 stands at 1" top view : Watering is done daily, about 1L each. It seems like coco dry up quickly. I just make sure the top 1" of the pot is moist. I will adjust if needed. My room is stable at about 45% rh. Temperature is around 25C at night and 30C during the day. Got to 35C on the first day but it was desert like temperature outside so I can't controle this part... Could If I had air conditioner but I wont invest 150$ for 2 plants that seems to be dooing fine without ! Anyway, cute little thing. Can't wait to see how they turn out. The Early miss, according to CKS website, should take 7 weeks. The Big devils should be aroud 60 Days from what I read.
Day 6 : Well, nice rhytme until now! Let's start with the early miss. She have grown 1/2" in 3 days. She's now at 2". Looks pretty healty ! Second set of leaves growing. As for the Big Devil, she's keeping up! she also took 1/2". Now at 1 1/2" Looks like she will be hairy! Quick look at my setup : Got my exhaust fan and my ballast on the top. along with the power outlet and timer you can't see in the pict. 4" duct going along the wall and run to my carbon filter in the other room. Hot a small fan to move some air directly on the plants. The wire you see is my digital thermometer. I get temp from the top of the room and the floor temp also. I tried to take an overall pict. hard with the lack of space Things are going well!! Let's hope it stays that way
Day 8 : The Early Miss is not slowing down. Can't wait to see these cotyledons fall off. Big Devil #1 is kind of falling behind. Shes got a funky leaf on top of that. Lets see what happen with her in the future... That's it for today! Peace B)
I like the set up, I am also on my first grow. Right now I am growing regular photo but I have some Auto seeds I plan to run next. I'm very interested to see your grow progress
I agree autos are awesome you can grow them along side your mother plant or reveg! At least those are my plans
Day 11: cotyledon are getting pale, yellowish a little bit. Cant wait for them to fall. Then, ill give a first very light round of nute. Big devil : leaves got bigger but she did'nt gained much height. Early miss : Gained some height, she looks like she will have a good structure. I bet on the Early miss for now. But its still early !!
Day 14 : Things are well ! little growth, but they are healty Early miss : Big devil and hey funky leaves :
Day 18 : I'm impressed by the rythme the early miss have taken since the first feed. She now stand at 3" Structure is looking good for now Big devil is going slowly but is growing. More weird leaves The watering is around 2L of watter each every two days. I wait for the top soil to be almost 1" deep dry. That it for tonight!!
Day 21 : I wanted to do mesurment yesterday but with the light on and everything... So here we go : Early miss stands at 5", 6" when leaves are pointing up! And a nice 6" wide. The Big devil #1 is way smaller, stuck at 2" She got wider tho, she's now 4" wide. Last one from the early miss. All leaves pointing up, happy to be happy.
Day 25 : Veg growth is speeding up!! Can't wait to see some flower site appearing. The Big Devil is surviving, somehow. Let's start with the Big Devil, who's surviving against all odd. The steam is not strong enough to support the big leaves. Got two wood thing supporting the steam but the air movement in there keeps making it fall around, which is why her leave point up like that. The weird leaves have stoped tho Early miss now! She's growing like a champ See you later !
Day 27 : Things are improving !! Let's start with the Big Devil #1 : She's now standing straight with the aid of the two wood stick I placed. She started some new growth, so it does not look too affected by the events. Standing straight with the weird leaf on the left : New growth The early miss now, she's continuing to grow. Lots of new growth on the secondary steam. She's getting bushy. Showing her sex proudly. She keeps growing Good night !!
Day 34 : Thing are doing very well. Very hapy with how the Early miss is doing. The Big Devil is a resilient one!! Will have to add support when bud will show. Let's see the Early miss : She has a good structure Leaves are looking good! Big devil, more bushy this one I'll take new mesurements tomorow!
Day 35: As promised, mesurements!! Let's start with the big Devil. The one who was not even supose to survive. Well, she now stant at an healty 1Ft ! I did some LST on the Early miss. Since this is a test run, I will see how the strain react to it. I plan on doing 5 of them next run so I have to know ! First time doing it, I think I did well. Good structure. She now stand at a good 16" Switching to a more Blooming oriented regime. I will also do an aftershock to the early miss to help with the lst. Let's see how things go from now !
Day 42: Things are very well!! Both are fully flowering. Both are also now 24" high. Early miss. Many flowering sites. Shes getting a darker outlining on her leaves. She looks super healty. Future main cola side view Flower site close up. See the darker outline of the leaf. Big Devil #1. Still amazing me. She caught up with the early miss on the lenght. She's only less bushy. Flower site are developing fast. Looks like it will be one main cola with 4 small secondary. Future main cola Random flower sites Cant wait to see theses in 25 days !! I will probably need support for the main colas, especially on the Big Devil. I will probably use a mix on bambo stick and strings attached to the walls. Peace !! B) 🗿
So I crancked my ballast at 75% instead of 50%. Meaning that i'm now at 750W hps. Temp increased to 33 during the day. Should not be a problem. Leaves are pointing way more toward the light! 2 pict I took quickly : EM BD1
