Left alcohol in my reclaim

  1. Hello friends, I finally made an account after months of browsing this forum! I recently came across a forum on the topic of cleaning your rigs, using 91% ISO, and evaporation to get you reclaim back. I thought I'd give it a shot. Unfortunately, I pulled my reclaim from evaporation a little early and after a test dab I can tell I didn't do it properly. Before I throw it out, my question is, is there a way to further the extraction? A few friends suggested I simply set my slick in the sun for a while and let the sunlight take care of it. What are your thoughts on this, and do you have any suggestions? If not I'm just going to toss it! Thanks all.

  2. You should be able to purge the rest of the alcohol out. Look up purging methods and try those out. Either hot bath or oven will do the trick.

Keep it out of the sun. The suns rays will degrade your reclaims quality further.

  3. Thank you for getting back to me on this! I will do exactly that.

Didn't know sun rays could do that, very interesting!

  4. Its UV I think that degrades THC. Its one of the suns rays that does it.

  5. Yup, keep it out of the sun. It degrades the thc to either cbn or cbd...
And you could always redissolve it into alcohol and start over. It might take a week to dry on it's own on a plate the way it is now, or 3-5 days to dry if you just redissolve and start over. So you could smear it onto a plate and forget about it for a week, and rescrape. Or redissolve and start over basically. I'd redissolve it, it might not evap fully if you spread it on the plate the way it is now. Then hot water purge the shit out of it, it's reclaim, theres no terps to preserve, then forget about it for a week to evap.

  6. Dude, spread it out on tin foil and leave it alone for a week, then stir all the puddles and leave it alone again.

Then lightly heat the backside of the foil so it all runs together, then do the same to drip it into a better container.

  7. As others stated, keep away from sun. For reclaim, I usually rinse my rig with 91% ISO and then place all of the mixture into a mason jar. It usually fills out to about a 3 inch height in the mason jar, keep a small fan on it oscillating. Usually after 2-5 days of that, the reclaim has sunk and sticks to the jar and the remaining alcohol can be poured out. Then I let it sit for another 2-5 days with the fan on to finish getting all of the extra mix out that you can. I also have a dehumidifier on 24/7 if that helps.

I found my biggest problem I have ran into is dealing with mold, because of it being wet wax, so just make sure you keep a fan on it and you should be fine. Or you could purge it which would be faster, just not a fan of doing that for reclaim so wanted to throw out my process.

  8. Don't smoke claim if you got it out with ISO, cooking should be alright but definitely not for dabbing
