An Argentinian teenager was gang-raped and had her eyes gouged by her sister, which was done under a local pastor's order to perform an exorcism ritual, the rapists say.

The 16-year-old victim was struggling for her life when she was rushed to the hospital after going through the brutal ordeal. Her family told authorities that they performed the exorcism because they believed that the girl was possessed by the devil. The victim was pinned down by her sister, who then took her eyes out, according to the Daily Mail.
The terrifying ritual was performed in General Pinedo, a town in the province of Chaco located in the northern part of Argentina. Local police arrested the older sister of the victim for pioneering the ritual.
The sister said that the girl was having hallucinations and visions, so they did the cruel exorcism, knowing that pain terrifies demons and the act would drive the demon out of the girl's body. Officers are also in the process of arresting a group of men who allegedly took part in raping the teenager, The Mirror reported.
Police Commissioner Pablo Almiron said that the parents also believed that there is a devil present in the girl's body. The parents said that the teenager was seeing animals like goats that were not real. They sought the help from a local evangelic center and asked a pastor to "cure her."
"It is the first time in 22 years of my career in the police to have an event of this nature," Almiron said. "The prosecutor has also said that it is the first time in his life. It is very difficult to explain that something like this could happen to a teenager."
Aside from losing both her eyes, the teenager suffered injuries around her genital area. The victim is now recovering from the terrifying ritual in the intensive care unit of the Perrando de Resistencia hospital, according to The International Business Times.

  2. Moreso on exorcisms, I know we all know the people in this story are batshit crazy

  3. Life's a bitch and then you die. Move along, nothing to see here. This is business as usual.

  4. Religious extremism is an inherently dangerous thing.

  5. So just who "had the devil in them"? The possibly schizophrenic girl suffering hallucinations, or her family and the "pastor"?

    Sad.

    Welcome to Religion.

I once smoked weed as a kid in a strange small town far far away in Europe and oh my days.. I got caught and was the craziest reaction i ever seen.

The people there were religious and thought i smoked Heroin or atleast made it that way, they were saying oh god his life is over and praying for me and doing all these weird hippy sounds and telling me to eat and drink certain things to clear the body from evil spirits i ingested from the herb LMFAO..

From that point on i Realized Religious people are by far the most brainwashed people on the planet. I would rather hang out with an American copper dog and eat some doughnuts.

  8. Not really that typical.....

  9. Absolutely fucked up. Someone should start her a fund and get her out of there. A 16 year old person who just lost her vision and was victim of a brutal violence/rape and her parents were cool with it? Possessed, how do people even think this is a thing, must have watched too many scary movies.

    I am crying for her.

Going to give my parents a big hug tomorrow for not being so goddamn stupid.

  10. And they say drugs are bad for your brain.

I'll take my chances with weed thank you very much, zealots (not all religious people are this kind of crazy) are fucking terrifying.

    That poor girl....

  12. This is garbage. Makes me want to bring down the world religions and become the devil that they so seek to relinquish from their lives and murder the whole family who perpetuated this. I think even god has mercy on the ones who slaughter it's idiotic followers. God doesn't want people who do the devils work in the name of god (in my opinion). sometimes you gotta have a brain and obviously they didn't.

  13. two wrongs don't make a right

The reason you have moral superiority is because you dont resort to that. Don't lose the moral high ground.

The reason atheism (rationality) is spreading world wide is because of this fact. So rest easy

I understand where you're coming from I just wanna know how these people will pay. Because as far as I know exorcisms are legal and there are no laws to prevent against what some religious lunatics will do during them especially if everyone was in consent. Seems kind of a stupid question but it's got my gears grinding.

edit- i got so caught up i forgot the article said they were arresting the rapists. what about the sister? or the parents... who TECHNICALLY did nothing.

  15. Makes you wonder who the possessed ones really are, jesus.

  16. Hahaha very true, but chill
