    hello.

I am brand new here hoping I can receive some additional input on my theories from the community.

I appreciate everyone considering my post, I ask that you only offer responses based on facts and information.

Our industry is already overrun with opinions and conjecture, it is half the reason people fail when they start.

I am a commercial grower, I grow in rockwool cubes that are handwatered with nutrient solution.

My current arrangement I drain to recycle back to my reservoir, then after a week (depending on the condition of the solution) the water is drained to waste and the reservoir is refilled.

This method is still more efficient than traditional gardening and I try to make use of the waste water in the most constructive means possible.....

But... I still waste water. I want to stop that.

So my plan is to recycle the waste water through a filter system to reuse it in creating a new nutrient solution.

My research so far has seem to point to having to use an RO system to bring the solution ppm down to acceptable levels.

However the slow filter times and the grey water run off are detractors in my mind.

Does anyone know of a more efficient media or system for filtering out old nutrients?

Please remember this water will be from a pump, not house pressure so i do not have to deal with the low pressure situation most home filter systems are designed for.

Thank you very much for your input.

    Have a great day.

  2. How big are your reservoirs? Distillation makes more sense to be than RO, you'd be changing the membranes a LOT.

  3. There is no way around having 'some' waste' water.
Contact your local Aquathin dealer. They have commercial ROs with large membranes, high pressure pumps that produce significant pure water and minimize waste

  4. I'd have to think that (and please correct me if I got your question wrong) if you're trying to save the "leftover" hydroponic nutrients that you'd have to somehow test them to see what's actually in there or you'd be giving your crops insufficient nutrition. If you were to get the PPM's back to where they should be that wouldn't mean that there was enough Nitrogen, or Pottasium - for example.

    IS this what you're asking?

  5. Its what you do with waste that is important. If it goes down the drain its useless waste. If you feed your less important plants outdoors they will love you and use it up.

  6. recirculating drip system and I don't use RO that's water waste. Please give me more details so I can answer your question better
