Excited to be back to it Drip hydro table with HPS and a six gallon thermoelectric reservoir

  1. So I went to Italy and had to stop growing for a while. Bummer but I got one plant each of Death Star, Acopulco Gold, and Holy Grail. I used a scrog for the first time for a month in veg under a T5 and just changed over to flowering.

Using Botanicare Pure Blend Pro, their CalMag Plus and Silica Blast, Big Bloom, some HG Drip Clean, and SuperThrive. Same nutrients as before and I've gotten great results from this mix. Got the pH around 5.9 at 630ppm for now.
HPS is a Solitek ballast with a Hortilux bulb. Pump is set for thirty minute cycles three times per eight hour lights on.
The newest thing I'm trying is a thermoelectric cooler as a reservoir. It worked very well during veg, keeping the temps of the rez between 62 and 72 degrees with ambient temps at around 82. Got a dehumidifier keeping the humidity under 50% at all times.

Noticed a few spider mite webs last night and soaked the shit out of the grow with Neem oil, but read today that Neem can be toxic to humans. Anyone heard of this or have an opinion about the effectiveness of Neem for spider mites? I've been using it as a preventative measure since I restarted the grow.
Picked up some Azamax and some Pyrethrum type stuff to try out and my buddy recommended Mighty Wash...anyone have experience with these?

  2. Nice little set up. I find drip tubing and even Hydro Halo rings clog. Another drip issue is the nutes tend to follow the path of least resistance, and not wet the entire root system

Better to flood and drain, which would be a simple conversion to your set up. Get a ~ 300 gph pump, a bulkhead fitting (marine hardware) and a cycle timer with second hand on times. depending on the volume of the table it could be 30-60 seconds. f course the rez needs to be sized accordingly. And I find polished ornamental rock (Dollar store) much easier to use and clean and reuse

  3. Never used neem myself but I know people that do and they haven't ever complained about getting sick or anything. They don't use it during flower though. Just throughout veg.

For spider mites I recommend buying some lady bugs and releasing in your tent. They'll eat the spider mites and totally rid them from your grow. All while you never lift a finger. Or to keep from spending money just go out and catch some.

  4. Yeah I've been using this system for a few years now with no problems and great yields (1.5-2lbs under one HPS). Every system has it's ups and downs, and I really like using coir and perlite so...

  5. I totally considered that but I don't grow in a tent but rather an unsealed room, and I really don't know about having ladybugs running around my house :(

  6. Got a new veg table set up finally. A few clones and a very similar system under a T5. Gonna start doing two month turnarounds again and hopefully I can keep stock up!

And the ladies in flower are filling out the screen nicely! Always main lined before so it's interesting to use a scrog. Not sure how well I did it but seems like plenty of strong colas coming through.

No sign of spider mites since I neemed the shit out of the grow. Pretty sure they'll come back but I got an arsenal azamax and spinosad products to use :)

Halfway through week four and buds are filling out nicely. Haven't seen any spider mites nor powdery mildew, so pretty happy about that. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1442190115.509388.jpg

Hard to believe it's only three plants making this canopy, but I guess that's how scrog goes. Also really happy about how this thermoelectric cooler is keeping not only the nutrient soup cold but also prevents things from growing and reactions from happening.

    Can't wait for harvest!

The colas have filled out very well. Had a couple spider mite webs show up but hit the whole grow with Azamax a couple times. Seemed to slow their roll. And I wash my weed after harvesting so I don't think that'll be an issue.
Also got some plants ready in veg to start flowering right after I chop these ladies.

Feels good to be perpetual again!

Currently they're in the first of three days of darkness and the second of four days without water. Did a light flush beginning of week 7 no nutes thereafter so should be solid on flushing. Trichome stressing with no water or light and a dehumidifier beginning the drying process should take me home for a harvest on Saturday.

And these ladies are ready to clone and flower. Flip it and flower it....perpetual! Stay tuned for trim, wash and dry day!

  11. Looks killer man! I've finally got the patients to grow, but when the flush comes I always just can't wait. I always want to get the buds on a scale to judge how I did! Looks like you should have a nice and easy trim session this weekend!

  12. Woohoo! Harvest day is in full effect.

Got the drying room setup. Got through one plant today and hopefully I can get through the other two tomorrow and wash them before I hang them and start the drying process.

Giant mess to clean up so I can get the next flowering cycle started tomorrow. But it's Saturday night and dude needs a drink!

  13. Dude!! I hate trimming! At least it's done. ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1444104547.005509.jpg
Got a dehumidifier, carbon fan combo filtering, and a fan a blowin.'
    Hopefully the dry goes well.
Also turned the flower room around with bleach and rubbing alcohol.

Hopefully everything clickes. Can't get decent shots of buds yet but soon...
