I grew an autoflower (Road Runner #2) and just recently harvested it last month. I noticed a very very small portion of mold (cobweb fuzzy cotton type) growing on the inside of the plant when I was drying it. I figured, no big deal, I'll just cut it out, which is what I did. I then moved to curing. It's been curing for about 2 1/2 weeks but it has just recently began to obtain a musty/moldy kind of smell to it, but I do not see ANY mold at all? No white/grey fuzz anywhere, just a disgusting smell of must, like a basement or locker room...I'm going to be disappointed if this is a case of mold because this was my biggest yield :( Any thoughts? Thanks!

I don't really know. But if it smells musty I might do a hydrogen peroxide and water cure. Don't know the ratio. There is a video on YouTube on how to wash off powdery mildew off live plants- it would probably tell you how much hydrogen peroxide to use. I would hesitate to smoke it if it smells funky. I also might try a water cure and then make edibles, hoping any mold or fungus would not survive the heat. Still, be cautious and do more research. I have no idea if my suggestions would work or if they're safe. If it was me I'd lay them out to dry more, see how they continued to smell. Then if necessary I would try one bud in the hydrogen peroxide and water for seven days, changing your solution daily.
Good luck, please let us know how it turns out.

  3. I laid the buds out to dry more, now there is absolutely NO moisture in them at all which I'm hoping will stop any spores that were present from spreading. The smell improved but just slightly...I'll let it set in the jars like usual and see how it goes from here.
