  2. Still day 14, got baked and bored so i decided to show off this nikon i'm always talking about with some macro shots of my babies. even got a few of birtha, she's burnin pretty bad probably from the cal-mag plus the root breakage, she's still kicking and doin pretty well though. little bit of yellow on two of em, really not sure why. everyones saying it's nothing to worry about though and they still look great to me but i'm a noob so. .

  3. Day 15: The two plants that were yellowing are getting worse, still thinking it's the cal-mag. Not sure if there's a way i can fix it or if they have to just weather it. it's only effecting two of them. I have pics but i don't know how well it will come through. any ideas on how to fix this yellowing that i think was cause by cal-mag too early would be apreciated. Also getting close to topping time. Not sure if i should top the fourth set of leaves or the fifth, the fourth is popping out now and i was planning on topping the fifth. I raised the light a little to get more stretch out of the plants as they're really bushy right now. The last pic shows how many nodes are out, i've got three sets of leaves after the first single leaves and a fourth popping out now. Any ideas or sudgestions? I'll put another post up to get opinions about when i should top these babies up too. other than the yellowing it's looking like an uneventful day.

  4. Went ahead and topped birtha, couldn't see the harm in topping her fourth node.

Day16: Plants look really good today. I'm kind of surprised the plants don't need water yet because it's been 5 days now since i watered them. Trying to have the will power to not water! Birthas top looks like it went well as you can see in the pic here the tops are already turning upwards this morning. Not much going on just posting my daily pics mostly. I can't get enough of watching them grow. I'm getting a little better about my ocd but i'm still checking on them ten times a day. The wifey thinks my whole thing about being ocd with them is why they still look good. I think it was research and preparation. I'm so far from done though and there's still so many ways to mess it up i'm just hoping the don't mess with them too much approach works out.Starting to think it's getting close to time to trim the first single leaves off too since they're almost completely in the shade from the other leaves now.
So here's this mornings plant porn. [IMG]

  6. I just noticed them drooping a little and looking hot and dry so i gave them their first watering in five days. I was just waiting for them to let me know since i have had such an over watering problem. Watered until i saw about 10 or 20% run off this time. Looking forward to at least a few more days of nothing to do but wait now.

  7. Still day 16: Trying to keep my mind off a recent loss of life in my family today so i went in and examined my babes. They look real good aside from the yellow i can only assume is nutrient burns or root damage from the transplant. The first single true leaves were almost entirely in shade so i chopped them all off. OMG It hurt me inside to chop them too. I think i need to look for some pruning advice on the forums, i've grown things before but never anything i needed to prune, not sure if these guys are old enough to handle much more pruning right now but i'm thinking that the lowest inner growth that's popping out maybe i should trim off too so i can have better air flow at the soil level but i'm just not sure so i left them for now. Any thoughts? That little tiny thing on the end is birthas retarded first leaf, all of it.

  8. Day 17: Got up this morning eager to see if the plants hate me for cutting leaves of yesterday, they didn't seem to mind. They look awesome today and the ones yellowing are improving. Happy camper today but i don't think i have much if anything to do in the garden witch blows but i'll get used to it. Gave them their misting BEFORE the pics today just for effect. I usually mist them after i take the pics so people don't scream your over watering at me, it's just a light morning mist i plan on doing once a day untill i see flowers. i managed to keep the box at 77 all day yesterday witch makes the leaves surface temp 73.5 witch i think is almost perfect so i'm going to shoot for 77 more often when it's cool enough to achieve it. They don't mind 79-82 but i can tell they like 77 much better.

  9. Looking good! I remember my first grow. The obsession! Lol. We love this plant, man. They might be wanting some N. Have you started feeding them at all? Oh, and beware spraying them during lights on. The water droplets can act as a magnifier and burn spots on your leaves. It's always best to foliar spray right before lights out. Another good rule of thumb with pruning, never take off more than a third of the plant.
I'm gonna stick around and watch!

i did when they were little seedlings give them some 1/8 solution of big bloom dose, people told me to stop. Later someone sudgested i give them cal-mag and 5 hours after i gave them the cal-mag they developed that discoloration on half of some of the leaves. Nutes are scaring me right now. I transplanted like a week ago so they should have at least a weeks worth of nutes in the soil. but about the time that runs out i'm probably going to be transplanting them into the 5 gallon pots and then they'll have more fresh soil nutes, Not sure i should give em anything right now. i'm using a pretty good mix of soil i think with 1.5 parts ffof, 1.5 parts black gold, 1 part perlite and 3/4 part coco coir. i have the fox farms trio and cal-mag and molases for them but every time they get nutes so far then end up looking worse so i've been taking the less is more approach for a while.

  11. Big bloom is for flower. I think if you gave them a 1/4 dose of Grow Big next time they dry out they would green right up!
Another thing that helped me when it came to knowing when to water was pot weight.

  12. I totally agree. The yellowish color is probably lack of n. Ive read nitrogen doesnt stay in soil very long and watering with it helps the plant absorb more. Just give it a little dose next watering and see what happens. You can either flush it if it burns or add more next time around if it doesnt improve

  13. Your thinking of tiger bloom, there's big bloom witch is the weakest at 0.01 - 0.3 - 0.7 witch is for the whole life cycle then you have grow big for veg and tiger bloom for flower. my next watering i might give them light nutes, will have been close to two weeks on the new pots. i think they might actually have a month in this pot. That yellow showed up 5 hours after i used the cal-mag and wasn't there at all before, That's why i think it was the cal-mag. the big bloom never burned them i used it twice while they were in solo cups. I'm just so paranoid about nutes now because still i get 50/50 people telling me feed them and people telling me don't.

I think hes referring to the nitrogen content. Your flower nutes are low while veg nutes are usually high and thats what seem to be lacking

Yeah on the trio tiger bloom is the flower nutrient, big bloom is supposed to be given over the entire life cycle from seedling stage. look up the fox farms soil feeding schedule. i got some close ups of the damage they suffered shortly after i gave them nothing but cal-mag. see if you guys think it's really a deficiency. it's just really weird that until i used the cal-mag they were all lush beautiful green and 5 hours later half of some leaves were shriveling and turning yellow. It's not spreading, in fact it's pretty much stopped now. the first two are on birtha the one that grew funny since day one and had her roots ripped almost in half a week ago. the other was really healthy before the cal-mag. They are in the right stage to get some big bloom and some grow big so i might give them like a 1/4 dose next watering and see if anything happens. I'm wondering also could this just be coincidentally timed root damage from the transplant?

O.k. i have a post up to get more opinions about the damage on those leaves in the sick plants section. I'm going to turn into a nervous wreck by the end of this grow! Lol[IMG]

Right? I respect all the advice i get from everyone and it's not that i disbelieve anything it's just that i'm paranoid and i will never be quick to take advice until it gets backed up again after what happened last time. It is about time in the feeding schedule to be giving some grow big and some bog bloom though so if i get some back up for what you guys said i'll at least give then 1/4-1/2 on the next watering in a couple days probably.

  19. When i transplanted witch was my first four transplants of any plant ever, i got one of the babies not exactly level and the weight of the new growth has been making her grow more and more sideways over time until i noticed two leaves were sitting on the edge of the pot and i didn't want any contact like that so i decided LST could fix her. My first lst attempt witch turned out to actually be really easy was to lst her to stand back up. You can see in the background of the first pic she's really leaning, sorry i forgot to get a before pic but i knew i'd have one somewhere. got it done and i think it will fix her leaning problem, i think now the way she's sitting the light will finish it and she'll be standing pretty straight. Not sure how tall she should be before i really lst her for more colas but i was thinking not untill at least 6 nodes then i can lst and top everything that shoots up. She's the background one in this first pic not the one in front. i should probably wait till their in the final pots to lst i'm thinking, might make for a difficult transplant.
