Is this even real lol

  1. So I was talking with a friend of mine about starting a small budget investment to do some Indoor stuff.
I decided to start with a few autos. After some issues were discussed, I started talking about the light I was about to use.
It is a dual-spectrum 600w, comes with a refletor and a ballast and it will cost me about 122$. The thing I'm left with is settuping a cooling/extracting system.
Now, after the hype, he tells me "hey, ever heard about UFO LED"? Nope, was my answer. A quick search and BAM.
My brain started to feel tingly as I saw the prices and the description. This is what I found:

    Output power: 300Watt
    Voltage: AC 85-265
    View Angle: 360 Degrees
Low Heat, Low power consumption (80% less compared to HPSL and MHL)
    Replace 3~5x HPSL Power
    Doesn't need reflector nor ballast.
Heat dissipation design, 10-15ºc lower than its precursor
Light penatration as much as 3-5 times than traditional HPSL
    Lighting area is adjustable

Now, the Lumens weren't showed in this product's description.. But saw another one just like it that stated 4500 Lumen.. 4500 Lumen, compared to the 90.000 I was going to get from DualSpectrum HID.

    Any input on this?

Oh, and price for the latter one is 132$.

  2. Would really like some feedback on this!

  3. Probably a shitty UFO...
anything under 500$ will not compare to a 600HPS... even then, to match a 600W's growing power you would probably need to invest close to 1k $ for a good led.
and for LED, you want to check the actual power draw, 300W is probably the nominal power of the LED.
Go have a look at AdvancedLedLights.com, these are quality LEDs

  4. Wow great products on that link, But the price range is way too high for me, at the time. I will have around 350$ to spare, for everything (ballast, if needed; bulbs, extractor, fans, filter.....)

  5. If you are not ready to spend that much, I would probably recommend you stick with the 600W HPS. You will have more heat to manage, but at least you will get some yield and not spend 150$ on something to get less than an ounce of yield :p

  6. HPS systems seem great, but the Heat is a present issue......
Can you see the specifications in this light? I'm sorry for asking you this, but I'm a complete noob in indoor systems. I'm currently growing 2 plants outdoors, using LST method.

    True 3W Full Spectrum

It's roughly 150$, but I better make a good choice since I can get a HPS+MH+Refletor+Ballast+Hangers+Timer at that price.
It's like I'm looking for a cheap (not that cheap, already saw some 100$ shenanigans), but that will be decent in yield and quality. I'm looking for quality over quantity, never liked the "you get more yield at the cost of the potency+taste".

  7. I wouldn't waist money on the first link... Vipar will probably be better but still a bit sketchy...
Personally the lowest quality or price I would recommend would be the MARS II lamps. They are pretty cheap, and have a pretty good reputation. But to match a 600W HPS I don't think I would go with anything under their Mars II 900W
If you like DIY, you can make your own LED with Bridgelux Vero COBs. ends up pretty cheap, around 1$/W if you are careful.

  8. I've came across the Mars series, and I have to say, for the price it is quite good. Also the SolarFlare series, but kinda pricey.
I have a lot of thinking to be done before heading down this road, can't hurry such a initial project like this.
Thank you for your kind and informative replies :)

  9. @Aqter don't buy neither just make a panel. for $350 a great Vero light or you can build a Cree CXB3590 like me. It's not that hard to make check out my DIY thread and if you have any questions pm me

  10. Really gives the impression that it is the best that one can have, but there's one little problem... There is no reps for either of those companies for me to buy off.
Checked your DIY thread, impressive stuff :)
