Hi all, I'm new to crop growing and at the moment I'm guriella growing a 2 week old autofem dwarf outdoors and would like to supply her with some nutrients. The medium I used was a nutrientless soil in a relatively large pot. I plan on mixing a half or 1/4 strength dose of all purpose Miracle Gro. The problem is that I don't know how much to pour into the pot with the plant. I'm assuming I don't just pour the entire gallon of solution into the pot with the plant... right? Would I just pour enough so that the soil around the plant is wet?

  2. Get rid of the miracle gro, the stuff is poison.

Look for Foxfarm nutrients or Advanced Nutrients.

Use 1/4 strength mixed per gallon. Water until all of the soil is wet, you should see water coming from the drainage holes.

  3. Thanks for the response!

  4. Yea, you may use the whole gallon depending on the size of your pot. You want to water until you get a little runoff coming out of the drainage holes. This may only take a few cups, or it could take several gallons of nutrient solution depending on pot size.

  5. The excess runoff will help rid the soil of excess salts that may have built up. The amount you water each time is not the most important aspect of watering. Once it's wet, it's wet. All of the excess will drain away. It's the frequency of waterings that is critical. Wait until the pot starts to feel light before you water again.
