Slow Growth

  1. Hey so I'm 21 days into my plants (from) seed. I have them on 24-0.. was planning on switching to 18-6 soon. But I'm noticing that I'm getting new healthy looking fan leave fingers almost everyday. But there has been almost zero vertical growth.. why and what do I do? my lights are 4 cfls 23 watt 100 watt equivalents. I know light is on the lower end but I have 4 42 watts on their way. is that the problem? they are all about 2 inches from the plants top and the light are in clamp reflectors.

  2. and also only on of them has nice white fuzzy root growth. the others aren't that white. more of a cream color. they all have tiny roots peaking out the bottom the soil. but barely.

  3. The first three weeks your plant is a duck on water. The surface of the water is calm but under like in the soil the roots are going crazy. When that is done your plant will blow up. All takes time. Also less vertical growth the better. You want close node sites for bigger buds. You will need more watts though.

  4. 24/0 is ignorance on your part relating to the carbon exchange all sentient beings do....including you!
understanding the basics of hort, is vital to any grower, having them at 24/0 means they make the required sugars to grow, but the energies(sugars and carbs) can't move south to the storage mixing zone in the roots, also carbons don't reach up top either..
once you know this ...and go like everyone here 18/6 (at best), the plants then get to move that energy around, and growth occurs, ensure in veg you also have an even balance of red and blue bulbs(2700k and 6500k) and avoid overwatering by having 20-30% perlite in the pot ...good luck

  5. everyone says only 6500 for veg. so your saying half and half of some 65k and 27k bulbs? I'm getting more wattage so would 27k of the 23 watt do or should I get those in a 42 watt as well?

  6. 6500k for veg with about 20% warm red ...see an led.. light they are a good example, many grows are done by noobs here on gc.. that use only 6500k, they are always squat babes in need of some red light...just take a look, many are taken by that fallacy ..good luck

  7. what would you suggest like what 65k bulb to 27k bulb ratio?

  8. yeah thats good

  9. no like how many bulb of 65 to how many bulbs of 27? 6 and 2 4 and 4? 5 and 3? or...
