Privacy and secrecy are stumbling blocks

  1. According to "Leuthardt Hypothesis" social and technical evolution is exponentially proportional to the rate at which humans exchange information. You have to be blind not to realize that we are living in a time where we exchange info more than we ever had. Do you guys think we are ready for all of the changes coming? Are you looking forward to it or dread it?

In my personal life I have found that most people who have no problems with being spied on are generally not history buffs. On the contrary, they seem completely disconnected from the realities that befell people of the past, such as oppressive regimes. Obviously, there are exceptions. I am talking about a broad norm.

On the flip side, the most die hard conspiracy theorists seem to think Hitler's Germany is just around the corner for everyone again. They seem absorbed by the dooms displayed in the past.

As usual, it seems the "right" stance is somewhere in the middle. Things CAN become terrible, and things CAN become great. It is up to us as a species (hopefully) to navigate our own time to beneficent outcomes.

Only one thing is certain: The future will not be boring.
