Flushing

  1. Woke up this morning to a pleasant surprise, buds on my girls. I started to think this year let them fully mature. I plan on flushing the pots but I have a question.
Has anyone just taken the plant, including roots, and flush them by leaving the plant in a bucket of well water? Even if I have to change the water everyday to get oxygen to the roots.

  2. If you're growing in soil, "flush" at the end of flowering by watering with just plain water for the last 2-3 weeks of expected finishing time. "Flushing" should only be necessary if one has over applied soluble fertilizers. Don't drown your roots...
The drying and curing process is what really brings taste and aroma to the game...

  3. Yeah its in soil. I was just wondering if putting in a bucket of water would so the job. I've grown a plant here and there but never let them fully mature. There I hope I can keep my paws off of.

  4. Flush it in 7-8 weeks or so. I would definitely not flush it in its current state unless you over fertilized like the meticulous toker said above. Keep them hands off! Happy harvest when crystals (trichomes) are all over the buds and leaves and appear 70% amber, and you flush it for a week.

  5. Rev a well famous (TLO) grower, wrote on some of his articles thru Hightimes and skunk mag. When flushing for 2 weeks to get that extra harshness out, leave your cut plant in a bucket for about 2-3 days. Make sure to use only r/o water. I personally hAve done this since I do bot nutrients and organics. When I do that with the nutrients I find it a much better and smoother smoke! Hope this helps your question on flushing. Also personally cut off any moldy parts.
