I have a 4x2x5 grow tent it has 8in exhaust and a 6in ac cooled intake. it is in my closet and exhausted outside. temps are to high i have co2 but the heat is making me nervous any ideas on how i can bring the temps down? the temp is around 86 degrees f i also have a 600 watt hps dimmed to 75% with a cool tube hood all fans are on full blast
AC hooked up and 8" exhaust? And still at 86 with just a 600hps? Man You must be in desert. I guess bigger AC?!? What's causing the heat the ? Can't be just the light, whats the temp with light off and no AC?
i live in the south its like 95 here right now...... with the light off its like 77 i also have fans inside the tent on full blast, also i have a box fan pushing hot air out of the closet and a box fan pulling cold air into the entire room, the ballast is not in the closet so its not that. i have run out of ideas with this situation, and also do i NEED a carbon filter on my intake? if i take it off will smell get out?
Intake only needs filter to filter out dust and mites and spores and pollens and ....... out of the air, for smell you get the carbon filter on the exhaust air.
Maybe a pic would give us a better idea of youre set up. Could you possibly be sucking the hot air your exhausting to where the intake is sucking it back in? Getting the carbon filter off your intake should help I would think.
pic but will still explain...........intake is on bottom of tent and is in a/c duct directly and exhaust is on top at opposite side blowing directly outside. i took the carbon filter off intake and put a sock on it for a filter brought it down by like 2 degrees. maybe i should exhaust closet? i have the money to get more inline fans.
I'm not sure what your doing for co2 but you're wasting it exhausting it out of your grow by running your exhaust. Co2 needs a controlled closed system to be a benifit. Is there any long runs in your duct? Or sharp bends? I have the same size tent w/ 600 watt hid cool hood and a 400 watt led. Exhaust is a 440 cfm 6" inline/ carbon filter/ speed controller. I'm able to manage just a couple degrees difference from inside the tent to the room its in ever since I rerouted my exhaust. Shortened up some runs, got rid of a bend and now am able to exhaust it outside
The co2 runs directly to plants. And no long runs Nd only one bend per fan setup and I have speed controllers my temp is above 87 max 93 plants will die
Yeah the less bends in the pipes the better, air can flow more quickly and efficiently what can bring the temps down, even better still you could try swapping the intake and putting the carbon filter on and run it like that to see if that brings temps down, then you will know if another fan is worth it. Open the flaps on your tent if you do this so air can be pulled in from somewhere. Another thing where are you measuring these temps from and what with? Cheers
i have a thermometer/ humidity gauge (accuright) and the top of the plants there are no unnecessary bends in the pipes
Ok I figured it out I needed a better exhaust fan not enough cfm..... Another quick question, do these look normal? The leaves are like crunching (not crispy) to a point on sides is this ok?
Do you shut your extraction fan off when lights are on? If not your wasting a ton of co2 and there's no way its maintaining 1500 ppm. Do you even have a meter? Are you running a co2 generator or co2 bottles. The diy sugar and yeast junk won't come anywhere near 1500 ppm You're exhaust will be pulling it straight out of the room. Read up on co2 set ups. Its a waste running an extraction fan w/ co2 but you can't afford to shut yours off. As far as the seedings how have you been watering? Possibly could be overwatering. It will turn the leaves crispy. Can't really say without more info
They are NOT crispy the edges of the leaves are like bunching up to a point. And I have a huge supply of co2 for free so I'm not worried about co2 at ALL
Crunchy....crispy whatever dude. Same damn thing.....lol come on man. Without giving your watering/ feed info your not going to be able to get much help. And there's no sence wasting time on someone who doesn't want to help themselves by supplying necessary info. Rather you get co2 for free has nothing to do with my comment about it. Your system isn't set up to take advantage of Co2 . if your fine with that, that's up to you....good luck man
How bout u stop saying there crunchy they are not like fuckin chips. U make no sense I don't fert yet I use ocean forest I water them when the soil is dry nothing more. And if co2 has nothing to do with it then y u keep bringing it up?
crunching does not always mean crispy! if you do a crunch on the floor you break? gtfo it says right next to crunchy its not fucking cripsy. Are you old and senile or something?
