PC Box Strain Help

Discussion in 'Micro Grows' started by irondruid, Aug 7, 2015.

  1. Hey y'all I've spent the past few months reading and pondering over growing my own herb. I really love the sweet stinky chiba, don't we all, and I'm tired of not being able to get variety or anything really medical where I'm at in country. So I've decided I'm gonna grow my own, or at least some of it, and the only way I can pull it off is stealthy with micro box.

I'm a first time grower but I'm not scared of having to extra work into a plant to get some high quality dank. My grow space is 2ft. Tall almost as wide and a little less than a foot deep. I know more or less what I'm gonna grow in, 2/3 ocean forrest soil mixed with light warrior 1/3 perlite, and I'd like to use two 6in. Pots for two plants but if it's better to grow one larger plant I understand.

So what I need is suggestions in strains I'm pretty much set in ordering from nirvana directly(northern lights, judicious, blue mystic, papaya, etc.), unless someone could suggest a reputable place to buy a strain not offered by nirvana

    Thanks,
    Iron

  2. Hey man, I'm a bit of a newbie to micros too. I guess you have to consider how the strain will grow and how much light you can give it. I use CFLs and LST/scrog to keep the canopy level for better light distribution. The bigger the pot, the bigger the top so you could do a one plant scrog and get a bigger yield with one variety OR you could do a two plant scrog with two different strains and have a choice of variety. I'm excited for your first grow man!

well for my first run at it maybe I shouldnt lst right off, I want to grow those plants that look like one big foot long long bud. The single stalk with minimal lateral branching would prolly be best, won't most indicas do that? I really wanna grow this strain papaya by nirvana. But it's not autoflower, I kind of want an autoflower just to minimize the chances Ill mess it up. Short Rider, Northern Lights, Blue Mystic, and Bubbilicious are all auto, anyone help on which one ill need.

  4. Highly suggest looking into indica's, or hybrids that are not autos to start with. I run 4 kush strains and they are the best out of all of my strains for such a small space, however my Red Poison Auto is also great for small cabs but they are VERY sensitive.

I would personally go the two+ plant route. One could turn male or you could have unforseen problems. If they both get too large, you can clone one, and I hate to say this but... cull her.

LST or SCROG would be perfect for you, but SOG is also a good alternative. I grew some hashplant clones that each weighed exactly a quarter ounce dry. Haha, believe me, all of us want buds a foot long and. solid as fack. Its going to take some time to find your strains and dial I'm your setup to get there

Autos are also unforgiving, photos are a bit more newb friendly. Autos being that they are on a clock their whole lives, if you do any sort of damage during their infant stages, you'll be lucky to see more than 5 or 6 grams dry. But once you learn an auto, it makes photos so much easier as well.

  5. Don't mean to hijack, but here is one of those hashplant clones I mentioned. An indica strain like this might be perfect for what you are after.

  6. Honestly, training a plant to grow how you want across a screen is pretty easy but if you're growing autos then I believe they don't like to be topped/LST (from what I've read). I've only grown one auto before and that was by chance from some very old bag seed I had (actually, it was my first ever seed). The higher you go with your plant, the more light you'll need to cover the area from top to bottom with CFLs (you'll get more yield for the same energy used if you scrog/LST). Is 2 foot the total hight of the box or is that the distance from the bottom of the grow space to the bottom of the lights? Will you may run out of room in hight?

  7. dude, that hash plant makes me so happy. I'm comfortable ordering from crop kings, and they offer an original hashplant strain.

  8. [IMG] God damn it! I can smell that from here DAS.

  9. Haha thanks guys. It was fairly hard to manage as a clone because they were almost too indica, maybe it was the phenotype I had but they almost were an autoflower. But from seed I HIGHLY recommend trying the hashplant at least once. Very distinct smelly buds.

Its nice to get some variety of both indica and sativas. I find indicas have one large cola and small popcorn buds and sativas have smaller buds everywhere. And I mean everywhere. And they stretch a LOT. Great for cloning that's for sure lol. Also really nice for scrogs and LST

Get one of each, you won't regret it! :bongin: :smoke:

Im sold on hash plant, Ill be ordering some 5 pack next week. I read your grow journal and this coco stuff seems legit. Would you recommend it for a beginner or should I just mix up some organic soil and perlite. I'd love to try some sativas but Ill hold off on that til next year when I can grow outside. I'll keep looking for another indica dominant for the micro cabinet. Maybe something blue, we don't get much fruit around here. That red poison looked insane man O.O

  11. Love coco so far. Second best way so far for me next to DWC which is by far the best way to go IMO.

Coco is extremely easy because after the seedling stage it is physically impossible to over water if it is a Hempy bucket. But a lot of the organic guys will tell ya to stick with dirt. Either option is simple and the results will be great. I personally went with coco because I prefer the growth of hydro over the taste of organics. For you it may be the opposite though!

Haha and thanks man, yes that red poison auto is unreal and is my favorite strain to grow so far. I'm going to try out another one of their strains in the red series at some point. Not the easiest being an auto but very rewarding buds. I'm hoping to breed one of them with a kush plant if I get a male, hopefully I can preserve the red/ purple genes in the meantime so I don't have to spend monies

Hope it all works out for ya, be sure to start up a journal so I can sub in!

  12. I have grown an Auto using LST and it went well.
