Transplanting

  1. Iv been looking around and as with everything else everyone does everything differently lol. I'm currently a few weeks in on my clones and seems like they are growing too fast to keep in the one gallon pots. I'm going to be transplanting into 3 gallon smart pots. Can anyone give me a few pointers on transplanting since this will be my first time. Also I just watered with nutes yesterday. So would it be ok to transplant tonight or should I wait til tomorrow? Any other input I could get would be greatly appreciated thanks guys

  2. Squizze pot to loosen soil, place hand over top of pot with plant stem between your middle and 4th finger, flip upside down, allow plant to slide out, place in new prepared container.

Pro tip: plant directly into final container straight from clone dome

  3. Would my soil be too moist since I watered yesterday or you think it would be ok?

  4. You want it somewhat moist

Smart pots are easy to transplant. You don't want it so wet its a mess, nor do you want it so dry it crumbles. 1st make sure you have a nice full root ball. Then just start at the top and pull the smart pot off like a sock. The container will end up inside out once its off Don't worry about the roots that are attached to the material. Next time just put them in their final container. I don't see the point of up potting smart pots. They air prune the roots so your not getting the same effect as a plastic container

  6. Very good to know. I have 1 and 3 gallon smart pots but these were given to me in plastic 1 gallons. I'm about to transfer over from plastic to the 3 gallons smart pots right now. I'll know for next time tho to just plant into the 3 gallons
