Can you recommend a recipe that meets this criteria?

  1. I'm looking for a recipe that

    1. Is easy to make because I'm a kitchen klutz
    2. Ideally is made in the microwave or something simple
    3. Does not make the house smell like a pot farm while you're making it (but this isn't vital)
    4. Leaves a product that is really easy to dose - i.e., the THC is distributed and it's obvious what a 10mg dose is (I know the THC % in the marijuana)
    5. Results in something that is relatively long-lasting in terms of shelf life...i.e., something I can put in a tin and consume over a few weeks (or longer)


    Thoughts? I haven't cooked with mj before.

    Take a look at the recipes in the "sticky" threads at the top of the Edible Herb sub forum. These are the most popular and trusted recipes. Most of them have photos, and some even have how-to videos. Good advice for a first timer to use a trusted, easy to follow recipe, wouldn't you say? [​IMG]

  5. Rice crispies are super easy and only take 5-10 mins tops. Fruity pebbles taste the best in my opinion
     
  6. I learned to make cannabutter. I get the cheap bagged cookie mixes. One stick of butter, and I'm high for at least 8 hrs. ^_^ If you eat them late in the day, you WILL wake up stoned!!
     
  7. here is what i do and it meets ALL of said criteria!


    DECARBING~ first, decarb a batch of ganja so you have it on hand to use when you need it. i decarb 4 to 8 grams at a time typically because both I and my pops use this on the regular.
    1) grind 4 to 8 grams of ganja to a course consistency.
    2) insert said roughly ground ganja into a foil packet approximately 6 inches by 6 inches or so. use the opposite end of a butter knife or something heavy to seam every edge of the foil packet so it is as close to air tight as you can get it.
    3) put said foil packet with said roughly ground ganja into a preheated 200*F to 220*F for 15 to 20 minutes.
    4) remove said foil packet with said roughly ground ganja and put it on a counter to cool to room temp. do NOT open said foil packet with said roughly ground ganja before it cools to room temp. if you do some of the good stuff could vaporize / steam right out of the packet.
    5) put said decarbed and roughly ground ganja into a medicine container container for storage in the freezer.
    6) you have now made decarbed ganja. it is ready to use in all kinds of things you would make with single doses in mind.


    DOSING~ dosing is important because you don't want to ingest to much activated ganja. it will completely and totally fuck your shit up. it is an absolutely abysmal feeling and there isn't a fucking thing you can do but suffer through the hours, some times days long nightmare. it isn't like smoking to much where you green out and just burn out into couch lock and sleep it off.


    a typical dose of top shelf medical ganja as far as eating it goes is some where between .12 gram and .5 gram. it really does depend on the potency and strain. the sedating / couch lock effect is magnified by a huge factor. it also depends on WHAT exactly you are making it into and what ingredients you are using. it all effects potency, how long it takes to hit you, how long it lasts and the high you get from it. so with all of that said......


    i start with a .25 gram dose for my self, my friends who smoke beaster and others i know have somewhat of a tolerance. others who have some to very little exposure to ganja and edibles i do a .12 gram dose. they can always have more later if they don't think it is enough. and i do it in something with a high fat content. whole milk and heavy cream. coconut oil is by far the best to bake something like brownies or cookies. it takes about an hour to an hour and a half to effect people and up to 2 hours to peak.


    RECIPE~ hot coco {or just hot milk} is a killer way to get ganja down the hatch. i absolutely love it and it is my favorite way to get some medication into me in a hurry at the latest hours of the night when you are dog ass tired. 5 minutes it is ready to drink. an hour, hour and a half later you are good to go!


    1) 1 cup of whole milk, a few table spoons of heavy cream if you have it, .25 gram of decarbed ganja and let it warm over a number 5 burner for 4 or 5 minutes. on my shitty stove that is just enough time to get the milk and ganja to just under a boil. stir often so it doesn't burn / scald and it should never boil. turn down the heat to a 2 before it actually boils. you just want it really hot.
    2) drop in to the hot milk and ganja a squirt of choco syrup, 1 small square of chocolate from a chocolate bar and 1 square of caramel. you can do just the chocolate syrup or leave it as just milk and add a bit of honey to sweeten it. regardless, take it off the heat completely after the chocolate and caramel melt into the hot chocolate. keep stirring so it doesn't burn.
    3) pour into a mug the you previously added lots of marshmallows too {i like lots of marshmallows} and / or top with whip cream. i don't strain the green stuff out. as a matter of fact, most of it should have just dissolved into the hot coco as it was cooking.
    4) drink and enjoy your canna-coco. it will hit you in about an hour or so and you'll peak at about 2 hours into it if not a little less then that. it will have a slight marijuana smell to it but not bad at all. the decarbed ganja adds a slight nutty taste in my opinion and you also taste some of the ganja but that isn't bad at all either. more like it is perfumed with ganja more then anything else.


    OH YEAH, ONE MORE THING~ when you decarb your bud it is gonna fucking stink. not a little, a LOT. it is just the nature of the beast. it is why i decarb 4 to 8 grams at a time. that way i don't wake the family at 3 in the am lol. i store my decarbed ganja in an air tight medicine bottle and then drop said bottle full o' ganja into the freezer until i need it. so far i have used all of it before it lost any noticeable potency and that was a few months in the freezer too. i am pretty sure that it would last a long time in a drawer in your room at room temp as long as the container you're using is air tight. i know i found a small pill bottle with enough for maybe 2 coco's or 1 monster coco if i was man enough lol and it lasted in its environment for what i am guessing is 5 weeks. so who knows.


    i also went down to the baskin robins 31 flavors ice cream parlor because of the little spoons there. they are perfect for .5 gram {half gram} servings when you get the amount right. so you could easily eye ball half of that or more. i also had it down to eye ball what a .25 gram {quarter gram} serving when you get the size of the pile you dump on it to just right. then it is just doing this same thing repetitiously. if you want to get more of the ganja disolved into the hot coco, then grind it between 2 spoons just before you dump into the milk. the ganja literally melts into the hot coco.


    anyways, this novel is finished and i hope you get at least a little something from it. [​IMG]
     
  8. Making Canna Butter & Canna Sugar is fairly easy. Making the butter takes longer to metabolize... Where sugar hits the bloodstream fast :)

    I may try this, and then break it up into small piles and vacuum seal them, which should help preserve potency and keep smell down.

  11. The most versatile edible is a green dragon GD tincture.

    Once you have made a tincture you can use sublingually, in a drink, sugar or make a solvent transfer.

    Your best bet is to find the stickie thread called Another Tincture Thread...
     
  12. I just made a little sugar on my journal if you wanna take a peek. I agreed^^ that green dragon is awesome, especially in making the sugar, which can go in anything that takes sugar. Knocked me out for a half day or more! :D peace!

    There are so many advantages to sticking with capsules as a delivery method for THC and CBD.
    1) Easy to make large number of servings per batch. Where would you put 100 cookies? An entire year's worth can be made in an afternoon.
    2) Only 3 or 4 ingredients. (I also add a filler to bulk up the volume to fit in size "0" gelatin caps)
    3) Unlimited shelf life in freezer. Even in the freezer, baked goods, even chocolate take on odd flavors, become stale over time
    4) Compact and portable, good for travel. Could easily fit a month's worth in an small bottle. A whole year's supply fits in a small jar
    5) Most important, consistent dosing. Capsules contain a known quantity of medication.
    6) You can even forgo the effort of filling capsules by creating a paste made of cannabis, coconut oil, lecithin, and filler (I just used plain old wheat flour). Weigh the end result, which for instance is 90 grams. You can just use a scale to get the equivalent amount of cured flower in each serving
    7) If you use size zero capsules, each one filled with the mixture is very close to 1 gram. That's important because you can weigh the ingredients going into the batch and that number will be how many size 0 capsules you can fill
