So yea, I fucked up. BHO to everclear winterization. Was finishing up the cooling when my pyrex shattered and sprayed water and glass everywhere, including in my rubber finishing tub thing. FUCK!!!!! So here is my thoughts then. Somehow purge the H2O (again) filter it (again) to get the glass out. Would I just soak everything in more everclear and then proceed as normal? Would the purging process with some heat evaporate the water? Doesn't the alcohol evaporate quicker then the water? I wanna cry... That was such a turn of events today that I did NOT want to have to figure out.... Thanks soo much for reading and even a BIGGER thanks for the knowledge!!
It's actually quite easy these days. Pyrex is just normal soda glass now, and has been since 1998 when Pyrex sold its borosilicate division. Only Pre-1998 Corning Pyrex, Arc International Pyrex, and Pyrex Lab glass, is made of borosilicate now. Essentially, don't trust it unless you know its old, or you know its Arc International. Buy real borosilicate glass if you are going to have large changes in temperature.
I know its not boro anymore but you really need to be using way too high of temps, too fast, if its shattering.
This usually happens at like the higher end of a typical ovens heat range 400 and higher. Maybe it's getting too hot Sent from my LG-P870 using Tapatalk
