Candy Kush Auto UK Low Cost Outdoor Grow

  1. I've started this grow journal quite late so there will be quite a lot posts at first!

I've basically started this just to show people how easy it can be to get decent quality bud from growing outdoors in the uk. For beginners it can be quite daunting with all the different nutrients and additives people talk about on these forums so I'm here to tell you it isn't essential to add these to your grow. Although typically if you add nutrients and additives you will get a higher yield/healthier plants and root system but it really isn't essential if you use the right seeds. I'm not here to dampen the spirits of everyone who uses all different cocktails of nutrients because these guys put in some serious work and get great results, it just isn't needed for a low cost grow. At the end of the day a weed plant is a plant...give it water and sunlight in a half decent growing medium and you will reap the benefits. Some people may think I'm talking out of my arse but I've been growing outdoors for the last 5 years and had 4 very successful harvests (waiting on the fifth). I average about 3/4 ounces off of 4 plants, which for me is a decent amount when you look at the costs of everything. The key to this is using autoflowering plants. Although they get some bad press I can't say a bad word about them....from seed to bud in as little as 65 days...what isn't to like about that? So here is how I've been doing it for the last couple of years and I hope it helps. It's a really cheap and pretty effective.Firstly you need to get some good quality autoflowering seeds...they can be purchased online from any reputable seed bank. Some will obviously be better than others and I would recommend using sweet seeds speed + or any of the autoflowering range avaliable from autoseeds.com. I've had autos from greenhouse seeds before and the genetics are just all over the place. Currently I have 2 candy kush auto flowers from autoseeds which cost £35 for 5 feminised seeds and also have 2 experiential seeds that I got from a self germinating greenhouse seeds auto (avoid).Secondly the growing medium...I use any soil I can get hold of from a supermarket. Around summer they normally do like 3 bags for £10 which is cheap and trust me it does the job. I plant in big pots, the bigger the better with autos if your aren't using any added nutrients. I don't know the actual sizes of my pots as they differ but I would estimate them at around 10 gallons. Thirdly is germination of the seeds. I use a shot glass with tap water in and then just drop the seeds in for around 3-5 days until a white shoot appears. Typically I wait until the shoot is atleast 0.5cm long and then plant them about 2cm deep in soil, shoot facing down. From here on in I literally just use tap water to water the plants right through till harvest. As autoflowers have ruderalis genetics they are used to harsher climates of Russia and such areas, so make for a very robust and mould free plant. All in all my grows usually cost me around £40 and I get around 3/4 ounces so a value of like £600/800 worth of bud. I only ever grow for personal use and this is just to help anyone out that wants their own personal stash and dosnt want to put in a lot of money and effort.
Please keep reading below to see how the grow has progressed! Peace and love

  2. Below are pictures from the first week or two of growth. The first two pictures are of the experimental greenhouse seeds i mentioned and the last two pictures are the Candy Kush Autos. As you can see the plant in the 3rd picture has 3 leaves when normally they only have 2 like the others pictured. This is pretty rare but does in turn mean an extra 1/3 in weight off the plant!

  3. Below are pictures from week 4 i believe. This is when the auto flowers start to really boost in growth before flowering in week 6/7, depending on genetics. The first photo shows the size of the pots used for the greenhouse auto experiment seeds. they are must smaller pots...probably about 2/3 gallons. Apologies for the poor image quality.

  4. Fast forward a week or so and you can see the growth from the 2 Candy Kush Autos. Flowering hasnt quite begun yet at this point but they are getting their final stages of growth in. The two greenhouse seeds are growing at a much slower rate...due to the smaller pots and poor genetics i would imagine. Any questions about anything ive posted so far please feel free to ask :)

  5. I should have mentioned earlier that 3 of the seeds...the 2 candy kush and 1 greenhouse seed were planted at the same time. One of the greenhouse seeds took a little longer to germinate so was planted separately a week later. I will be posting pictures of the plants growth from weeks 4-7 either later today or tomorrow so you can see the growth. The 3 earliest plants are all in the flowering stage now...some more than others. For auto flowering plants these plants have GROWN BIG so please follow the post because when i post the pictures you wont be disappointed!

  6. The UK believe it or not can be brilliant for growing weed, just as long as you have a shelter/greenhouse to put them in when flowering. Lost sooooooooo much weed to bud rot when I was back there! Subbed man!

  7. does this look healthy for 4 weeks flowering in uk? This is my first grow will be week 5 Tuesday..
