  1. Every thing I think in life.isn't actually what I think.. I believe my beliefs to be true but I only believe because I was taught. My mom was an atheist.. And so am i, if she was a muslim would i be? Or would i still be atheist.
Know this sounds weird and Im bad at getting ideas across haha

  2. you have free will pick your own belief my parent are christen but i for one don't believe in a god

  3. I'm kind of confused. You think that atheism is a belief system? How exactly does that work?

  4. I understand completely . This once troubled me as well.

    But think about this.

While it may be true that everything you are was born from everything you've experienced, you are still unique in your personalty arrangements of said thoughts.

    Imagine painting a picture.

All the colors you use already exist. If you paint a flower, its not like you invented flowers. However your choice of color and shape and everything else about the painting, is your own unique arangement of said colors and ideas.

This is how new ideas are born and compile over time. Its evolution.

You are not an atheist because your mom was. You are atheist because you were exposed to your mom, and CHOSE that she was right.

I was born and raised Catholic and I became an atheist later by my own free will based on my own interpretation of experiences

  5. error in typing/ wording on my part, and that's a good way of putting it thanks Yuri

  6. This is true for some, and absolutely false for the most.

I come from a moderately religious family, but am a staunch atheist, so for people like myself, this is a true statement.

However, the fact remains that the vast majority of the world is religious and that religiosity has been drilled into their heads from very early childhood. Religious parents do not wait until the child reaches teenage years or early adulthood to start preaching the word of Jesus/Allah/BoboTheClown.

Church/Mosque/Whatever is usually associated as a fun and inclusive social event, so early humans associate religion with good vibes and social inclusion. As such, this feeling is multiplied by years of early development, so by the time the child reaches adulthood, it has religious tendencies hardwired into its system. They never really get to "choose" religion from scratch, with a fully formed adult brain.

This is why everyone agrees that if someone approaches them in a random parking lot, as adults, professing to know the way of the world and salvation, they would label him a nut and quickly walk away. At the same time, the other doctrine, the one that was drilled into their undeveloped childhood brains, oh that one is perfectly plausible.

  7. What do you think it is Sherlock? Your labeling yourself aren't you?

  8. Who yanked your chain? You mad brah? I cast aspersions on your crack pot debunked self-proclaimed "journalist" buddy and now you're following me around the board spreading your troll slime? Keeping it classy.

  9. Atheism represents one belief - there's no God. not much of a system

  10. "Atheism"

  11. Everything in life is connected. you are a physical thing that exists within the physical world. This is very obvious,so then it must mean that everything in the world can potentially influence how another physical thing developed. Therefore, your parents, family, friends acquaintances, can influence how your mind develops, ranging from the types of experiences encountered and the memories encoded. Ideas get exchanged, effecting you with the type of choices you encounter, and previous learning experiences helps you develop the wisdom to deal with specific questions. You have no free will.

  12. We are actually 99.99% Empty space vibrating very slowly creating the denseness. We are Merely forms of energy, Physical is only scratching the surface although i agree with most that you said to some degree.

It is proven that meditation and similar acts can raise this vibration so we become more of what we actually are and less of the illusion we have been told to believe is the only real there is.

Learning gives you knowledge, Living brings you wisdom.

  13. You might not, but I do.

  14. Could you elaborate on how this "vibration" has been "proven" to increase with meditation.

  15. nuh-uh

  16. I am too tired to type out my standard argument against determinism. So I say... "Yes-hanh"

  17. fixed
