My first pro gro (need advice)

  1. my first thread and first real gro. ok so heres the scoop. i have all the equipment, just want to run it by some fellow growers to make sure im not making a recipe for disaster

im going to do a sog, ebb n flow (64 indica plants per 4x4 table, containing fabric pots).

each plant will end up between 12-20 inch, they will be lollipopped and single-cola. im going to use at least 90% coco (if not 100%), as the medium.

i have a two-car garage that will contain (two) grow tents. one 5x5 tent (for one 4x4 veg table), and one 5x10 tent (for two 4x4 tables)

im going to use AN nutes

i will use a four-foot (8-bulb) T5 light for cloning, a 1000w MH light on a mover for the veg tent, and two 1000w HPS on a mover for the flower tent. also in the flower tent will be two, four-foot (2-bulb) T5s with uv-b bulbs for supplemental UV lighting.

things im worried about are mites, heat, and overfeeding.

before this, ive only thrown seeds in soil and come back to harvest later lol, so this is my first real gro. any and all help will be appreciated and considered.

  2. ok looks like i should just got for it....

  3. Sorry I don't know anything about sog but you sound like you got a good set up

I us AN nutes and love it wouldn't use anything else

  4. Only way to learn is to do. I spent months doing research before I started my grow and I've successfully completed 3 soil grows and I'm on my first hydro grow now. I have an ebb and flow setup as well that I like quite a bit. Easy to setup and easy maintenance. Check out my journal if you want to get an idea for a setup. As far as overfeeding goes, from what I've read less is always more if you're not sure how much to add. 3 feed times a day in ebb and flow should be right.

  5. Thank u guys! ive got 2 wonderful looking mothers now, ill try to start a journal when im ready to start flowering. Loving coco <3

  6. Any pics. I am starting a flood and drain soon. Working in soil currently sorting through plants to determine sex and then which plants will be mothers. Check out my journal if you get s chance. Love to here form everyone.

  7. I appologize for the amount of noobness im about to display, but how do i find ur journal?

  8. Pics will go up when ive recovered from this fungus gnat infestation. Also my setup is slightly different from how i imagined it when i first made this thread. Now its more of a soil grow. (Yep ive joined the darkside.... but they got cookies here!)

  9. My main momma is sick yall )=
Never really recovered from the fungus gnats. Tried feeding it coconut water, nettle tea, epsom salts. I was using vinegar to adjust the ph (trying to keep it between 6.0 and 6.4), untill i read into it more, now ill use coffee in its place. Anyways, i thought it was magnesium def, but epsom salt didnt help at all. Now im thinking potassium def, but really have no idea. If anyone can help, id greatly appreciate it.

Strain is chocolate chunk. Temps are 80 degrees daytime, 68 degrees at night. Untill the deficiencie(s) started, the only thing they were getting was medusas magic and olympus up (from nectar of the gods. 1000 ppm.

  10. Update: i think shes a gonner )=
Stems are still firm. My best guess is ph issues from vinegar, on top of stress from a recent fungus gnat infestation. Still, the other chocolate chunk (might be male hasnt matured yet) seems very happy. And i dont believe this is a result of poor genetics because these 2 seeds were the only ones that survived the 8 i planted (I learned a lot about damping off lol). Any guesses/ideas as to what happened here?

  11. She died from stem rot. Now im hoping that the other seedling (now about 10 inches with 6 tops) turns out to be female. I wont be popping any more chocolate chunk seeds for a couple months. Wish me luck (=

  12. So in that last pic, u cant see it, but to the right, theres a critical kush from barneys. It was originally one of a few experiment subjects that i planted outside, from seed, in the middle of october. I planted the seed into straight coco, and fed it nothing but coconut water and molasses. She gave no fucks and seemed to laugh at the coming winter. So i thought i would bring it indoors, clone it to save the genes (even tho its feminized), then flower it out. I knew indoors, lack of headroom can be a headache, so i waited untill it was about 24 inches or so and topped the apical meristem, and lollipopped it to about 50% foliage remaining without any ill side effects. Did i mention ive never even plugged in my air conditioner? Lol. After that i began LSTing and "accidentally" supercropped once or twice. Anyways, i moved it to the flower room exactly one week ago today. Room temp peaks at 85, 68 low. Should be plugging in the a/c tomorrow or the next day. Ill post some underage budporn in just a minute for you all. Guess im hijacking my own thread lol, but ill be recording this run here (=

  14. Plugged in the ac, room temp now fluctuates between lows of 68, and peaks about 76. Im wondering if not having an ac for that first week is going to degrade the final yield and/or quality. Shes still beastin out tho. I just learned that ive been pickin some things off her that i shouldnt have. Oops. Still with all things considered i think this is going pretty well for my first run ever. Appreciate all the information, and advice ive recieved from this community. Thats why im recording this run here, so yall can watch me make something pretty while also making absolutely ignorant mistakes for the vets to laugh at (like picking off budsites on the new growth)

  15. This pic was from yesterday, day 16. Last day of defoliation, im leaving it up to her now. I also spread out the tops with some tin wire for better light/air

  16. Day 21-
Spread her legs a lil bit more, room temp is a steady 75, canopy peaks at 78. I think i should have pruned just a little bit longer than a week ago, but its all good, still satisfied with what im seeing so far

  17. Day 30 (end of week 4, start of week 5)

She seems to be praying for her life after i defoliated her yesterday. Did a lactic acid bacteria feeding today (milk, vanilla yogurt, and molasses). Yesterday was her last bottled bloom feed. From today on she gets nothing but coconut water and mollases, a few shots of "bloom khaos" and "hurculean harvest", and maybe one more L.A.B. feeding right before her finishing flush. Stoked how good my first run is going!! Look at them triches tho! ((= Very pleased with this girl. Hoping what clones i got of her strike, im afraid i waited too long to feed, so theyre not looking the best right now. But i guess im not too worried about keeping this pheno since its fem. That being said, this has been a fun and educational grow, and i highly recommend Critical Kush to any beginner
