Jays Auto-medical grow

  1. Hey everyone, so I've finally been able to get everything together for my very first grow. To those who saw my post earlier, I won't be growing the Super Lemon Haze because I don't want to waste space and time for it to flower. So instead I'll be growing Auto BlackBerry Kush and Think Different, both AutoFems from Dutch Passion, in a 3x3x2 ft box (WxHxD) with a 200w Dual Spectrum light. I've just started germination today.

So I've mixed the soil in fabric pots. I've used BioBizz light Mix and some perlite. Then watered it with tap water left to sit for about 2 hours at pH 6.5.

Here's the pots in the growbox with the seed packets under them

And here they are with the seeds inside the dirt. I made a small hole with my thumb, placed the seeds in and then put some loose dirt over the seeds, covered the pots with Cling Film and closed my box up at around ~8pm (UK) I'm worried there might be some air pockets in the pots, any ideas on sorting that out?

Thats all I have for now guys. Any helpful hints and tips appreciated!!!!

  2. Hope all goes well. I'm 3 weeks into my first. Got some super lemon haze sidelined too. I went with super skunk and great white shark.

  3. Hey autos are a blast. Next grow try a photo so you can clone the genetic

  4. That CFL light can drop down closer man. Don't want them to stretch.

  5. Thanks man! I'll do that now :) was worried about heat n that but I keep reading that CFLs can get closer than normal.

  6. So I've put the CFL down close and its been about 35 or so hours, I've been anxiously checking them haha but still nothings happened, its warm in the box and I don't have a thermometer to check temps but I thought it was a bit hot in there so I've turned the fans on as well. Hopefully this time tomorrow theres a sprout.

  7. Another 24hrs gone by and still no activity. I've taken the Cling film off as it wasn't really doing anything cause it wouldnt stick to the fabric. uploadfromtaptalk1438525992419.jpg

I want them to pop soon and starting to get para.

  8. Update: my AutoBlackberry kush has finally popped out, Im gassed! uploadfromtaptalk1438543988986.jpg

No activity from the Think Different so far so I've replaced the Cling film and taped it down this time, as well as watered both pots with water at pH 6.5 so hopefully it'll build some humidity in the pot and push the seed to pop.

  9. Update: Both the Auto BlackBerry Kush and the Think Different have sprouted up and are looking good! I'm so happy to be the proud owner of 2 seedlings :)

So guys o was wondering to ask when is a good time to start giving veg nutes from here? I know I need to make sure that they veg nice and strong, and what veg nutes should I purchase? I've heard with autos you give the veg nutes for 3 weeks then start mixing with flowering nutes when you see the first pistils, I don't currently have veg nutes but I do have Buddha trees Pk9-18 which I'm going to use for the flowering stage at 1/4 strength, I plan to introduce it gradually maybe at 1/8 strength first. Also I'm going to go buy some extra CFLs this week maybe 4 26w ones to put 2 on either side of the box.

Any advice, tips and criticism on my work is welcome, I try to read up as much as I can to not be dumb but like asking for hell cause its unique to my situation init.

You guys reckon they're gonna stretch? I'm worried that they'll climb to high but idk what happens from here haha.

  11. You need that light closer pal, 100w a plant really with cfl more light th better with autos, also start feeding about 14-20 days in from first sprout at 1/4 strength, you shouldn't need to water that soil for a while now,

  12. Thanks man! Appreciate the help, ive brought the light down even closer and I'm gonna buy a set of 4 26w CFLs from BnQ but they're all 2700k will that be alright or will I need some 6400k lights as well?

  13. Im not familiar with your nutrients but I'd give them veg once established and once you start seeing pistils then I switched to full bloom second week ratio. I skipped week one, three and 5 in bloom on house and garden nutrients

  14. Yeah same as duty my autos have 1-2 veg feeds then after stretch I'll start the bloom,

  15. Thanks guys! That's the kind of tips I was looking for, what are some good veg nutes? I don't want anything to chemically, I don't know if that's a thing or not but I'd like the plants to not have too many chemicals. I was planning on going really light with the Buddha Trees PK9-18 the whole time I'm feeding them bloom .

  16. It's 27k for flower and 65k for veg,
I would look into low stress training (lst) because with cfl you don't get the light penetration as led or hps so you will want your canopy as even as you can get so you can have your light right above your plant, you can add extra lights on the side of the plant but that all depends on wether you got room or mounting points

  17. Old timers is a popular UK brand, says it's organic but it's all chemicals at the end of the day, to me organic is to with the soil, microbe and living soil, like water only,

  18. I can definitely add in extra lights on the sides, so 2x26w CFL ones on either side of the box but I can only seem to find 27k, does it matter that they're not getting too much light during veg if I give them good nutes?
