Plant Security

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by pandabossanova, Jul 30, 2015.

  1. Hey. So I'm growing a few plants this year and it looks like it's going to be a fantastic harvest. Plants are very healthy and all licensing is in order. But because I don't live in the greatest neighborhood, keeping the plants from getting ripped off is a priority. Does anyone know a few good, low-cost options for keeping my plants secure and bother-free?

Among the options considered, we're looking into baby monitors, barbed wire (which we have left-over from a few past projects) and so on. The backyard is completely fenced in but easy enough to get into.

Anyone got some ideas for cheap, low cost security measures? Your help is definitely appreciated. Thanks.

    grow inside[IMG]

dunno man. the medical marijuana laws are so sketch to begin with. I would seriously consider doing it indoors from fear of more than just being ripped off

  3. I wish. House not big enough though.

    Gun?? [IMG]

how bout a dog? can't think of anything practical honestly. just make sure no one can see it from any angle. grow some other plants around it to mask the smell

  5. I have a couple of these. They're priced right and work like a charm. The alarm has hi & lo settings. The low will wake the house at night, and the high will wake the dead. I also have security cameras around the house, and a dog to make noise when things go bump in the night. http://www.harborfreight.com/household/security/wi...

So far I have caught the bum stealing my cans and bottles I use to finance my grow.

  6. I use a motion sensor. The main benefit of a motion sensor is that it can sense the intruder and then sound the alarm. They detect movement when armed and once this is sensed the detector will send a signal to the alarm panel and then trigger the alarm. They have different ranges with the ability to distinguish between humans and pets. Here is a blog from think protection that I found online that lists some of the benefits of a motion detector What is a Motion Detector And How Does It Work? | Think Protection . Initially motion detectors were known for sending out unwanted false alarms but now with the advancement of technology this has become a very minor issue. I have had mine installed three years back and have not had any false alarm yet. You could get an infrared detector or an ultrasonic detector.

  7. Get a deer cam, run it on an old shitty TV so u can always see what's going on there, get a decent hunting rifle, and set up a booby trap with fishing line and stakes, if anyone trips it have gun fire in the air to scare em off

  8. I use the same as Ronhlp. I grow in a greenhouse and even though out of sight there still is a chance. I think I will put an electric fence inside the greenhouse this year also. Rather than setting up a gun to scare people use those party poppers.

  9. Once they resin up really good and start to smell, you better post a 24-hour guard out there if you want to actually keep them. If you have a neighbor who wants them bad enough, they will be gone. Why would you grow plants where other people can find them out in a world where nobody has any character or integrity or morals anymore? Better stay with them or you'll find they have disappeared because, if you haven't already noticed, the whole world is a thief these days and, if they're not, you have to treat them that way just to protect yourself. Good luck. TWW

  10. You guys act like it's utterly impossible and useless to try an outdoor. Use your barbed wire, nail very long nails through boards and post em up all along fence line and invest in that motion sensor. The rest is all on you just stay vigilant you make sure you want your plants more than everyone else and you'll keep em
