Are these ready to harvest and chop down?

    Hey everyone,

This plant is like in its last segment of the flowering cycle. All the leaves have browned up. And now all the trichomes are a cloudy off white color. I'm trying to wait to half are amber color, but I just don't see it happening.

I'm wondering if due to all the leaves browning and drying up, if the plant can't intake anymore energy from the light, and finish off the trichome maturity.

I guess I'm just wondering if I should continue to be patient another few more days to a week and see if the trichomes change to amber, or should I just start cutting now?

Picture #1 is a different plant that is still maturing in its last week or so in its flowering stage.
Picture #3 is the the plant I am really asking about. Most all the branches have become brown and all the leaves are brown and shrivelled. Can trichome changes still occur from off white to amber?

  2. I'd say go ahead and harvest.

  3. Those look super done bro

  4. You should go ahead and harvest those are starting to look like they are dead

  5. Oh my, What happened?

  6. Thanks. Yeah I just cut them. And after closer examination, more detailed than I realised was necessary to actually see the amber trichomes, i actually did see them quite all over the flowers with a different light and without any movement from the flowers. They are kind of sneaky devils.

  7. Wow, that far off I was in my basic understanding of picking cues with the plants. Ok, good to know. However, I felt the trichomes really changed to cloudy off white, but maybe I was just really examinging them well enough in good lighting and with out complete movement from the flower.

  8. Do you take them out of the closet when you check the tricomes

  9. No, never. First time I did it was tonight!!! Are you trying to make the point about how it is really hard to see amber color tones with the HPS lightbulb in the grow box?

  10. yeah you need to look at it under daylight. I'd say its ready though

  11. Try a joint.

  12. Yea I have an led light which makes it hard to see Trichomes on the top buds cause it shines pink but on the lower buds it's easier to see but in normal lighting you can see 100x better plus you have more room to move the plant and get a better look

  13. This is all very good information to know that would seem basic to an experienced grower. It's funny, I'm a photographer, but I guess I did not fully comprehend how difficult it really would be to see amber trichome color under a yellow HPS lightbulb.

  14. first grow, never had a harvest. are the leaves supposed to look like that? besides trichome color, is that a way to tell when its "done"?

  15. The leaves are supposed to start to yellow during your final flush and some die and fall off but leaves near you tips should not die and dry out like that usually the top leaves stay green or only a bit yellow in my experience. Yes, look at your trichomes. I usually chop when there's 20% Amber trichomes with the rest milky.
